Director of Rehab Services
**Job Summary** The Director, Rehabilitation Services is responsible for the daily operations of all departmental functions of the unit including administrative, fiscal, and patient care modalities to ensure a provision of high quality care. Responsible for organizing, planning, directing, and evaluating the services in all areas of the unit. The director collaborates with all disciplines within the facility, as well as other healthcare facilities to provide inpatient physical rehab services and to ensure a high quality continuum of care following acute medical services. **Essential Functions** + Demonstrates creativity, intelligence and discretion in planning, organizing and coordinating department functions. + Assesses a situation, considers alternatives, and chooses the appropriate course of actions. + Completes employee evaluations in a timely manner and assesses staff competencies on an ongoing basis. + Demonstrates proficiency at hospital wide and/or department specific computer software and technology. + Demonstrates fiscal accountability for department resources and the ability to achieve outcomes within allocated resources. + Communicates and supports the hospital's mission, vision, and values as well as departmental goals to all staff. + Defines performance objectives and metrics for the department. + Collaborates with other departments to problem solve ongoing issues that impact department/organization goals and/or patient care delivery. + Incorporates quality improvement data an/or patient satisfaction data into departmental goals. + Ensures accurate and timely reporting of department payroll. + Ensures all ordered Clinical Evaluations/Assessments are completed timely and meet regulatory compliance requirements. + Monitors and ensures all IRF DPU requirements are met. + Effectively plans the department goals, objectives & work flow for optimal productivity. + Represents the department at appropriate meeting and/or committees & PI programs. + Evaluate and revise policies & procedures based on local, regional, & national best practices. + Meets or exceeds all department regulatory requirements (CMS, TJC, CAP etc). + Successfully meets dept productivity goals by efficiencies & managing staff to workload. + Works to recruit and retain competent staff & manages staff disciplinary actions. + Appropriately implements solutions based on accurate and timely statistical/finance data. + Develops, executes and continuously evaluates business development plans for the unit. + Performs other duties as assigned. + Complies with all policies and standards. **Qualifications** + Bachelor's Degree Licensed Registered Nurse; required or + Bachelor's Degree registered licensed Physical Therapist required or + Bachelor's Degree registered Licensed Occupational Therapist required or + Bachelor's Degree registered Licensed Speech Language Pathologist required + 2-4 years IRF experience in a leadership role required + 3-5 years experience overseeing an Inpatient Post Acute Facility preferred **Knowledge, Skills and Abilities** + Strong skills in organizing, planning, directing, and evaluating departmental functions to ensure high-quality care. + In-depth knowledge of CMS regulatory and compliance standards, ensuring successful participation as a Distinct Part Unit. + Comprehensive understanding of patient care modalities within inpatient physical rehabilitation. + Ability to work effectively with all disciplines within the Health System and other healthcare facilities to provide a seamless continuum of care. + Proficiency in managing daily operations, including administrative and fiscal responsibilities. + Knowledge of budgeting, financial planning, and resource allocation to support departmental functions. + Ability to develop and implement strategies for quality improvement to enhance patient care and service delivery. + Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with patients, staff, and other stakeholders. + Excellent problem-solving skills to address challenges and ensure smooth operation of the unit. **Licenses and Certifications** + RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure In state practicing required or + PT - Physical Therapist In state practicing required or + OT - Occupational Therapist – Registered In state practicing required or + ST - Speech Therapist In state practicing required **Benefits** + **Sign-On Bonus** and **Relocation Assistance** available. + Competitive salary with a comprehensive benefits package, including: + 401(k) + Paid Time Off (PTO) + Medical, dental, and flexible spending accounts + Life and disability insurance + Tuition reimbursement + Student loan repayment program (up to $20,000) Send resumes to cathy_casey@chs.net INDLEAD Equal Employment Opportunity This organization does not discriminate in any way to deprive any person of employment opportunities or otherwise adversely affect the status of any employee because of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, genetic information, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, citizenship, veteran status, or military or uniformed services, in accordance with all applicable governmental laws and regulations.
