ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
+ Ensure the effective recruitment, hiring and training of all Residential Life staff, both student and professional.
+ Coordinates the recruitment and selection of Resident Advisors in the spring semester and coordinates any necessary mid-year or mid-semester hiring.
+ Plans and executes a comprehensive training for Resident Advisors in the Fall and Spring semesters. Issues evaluations of all training sessions and uses assessment to develop future trainings.
+ Organizes and leads monthly all staff meetings. Develops ongoing training to occur during monthly meetings.
+ Lead the development, implementation and assessment of programs and initiatives within the residence halls that are designed to foster community engagement, student learning and a sense of belonging
+ Provide training and leadership to Assistant Directors to ensure success in their secondary assignments, which often include diversity, equity and inclusion programming, facilities and operations tasks and development of interest communities in residence.
+ Serve as a Core Team Member of the SUNY Poly Care Team
+ Supervise the functions of key and card access management and management of Adirondack Solutions Housing Software, the housing application and assignment process, billing, repair requests damages, break and inspection notices and Room Condition Reporting
+ Maintain a working understanding of third-party platforms used throughout student affairs including Star Rez, Slate, Engage, etc. Ensure that student data is used responsibility by Residential Life staff and in compliance with applicable laws when 3rd party software is employed.
+ Oversight of The Housing Director and/or Star Rez, ensuring it creates a seamless experience for students and is secure and accurate.
+ Continuously evaluate the housing application process and make adjustments as needed to be accessible, friendly and clear to new and returning students
+ Ensure an effective and well-trained on call system of students and professional staff for residential students beyond business hours
+ Provide attention and guidance to risk management issues and topics, ensuring the safety of staff and students in residence.
+ Coordinate accurate and timely operation of the housing system including billing, damages, repairs, inspections, recommendations for maintenance and safety
+ Serves on SUNY Poly and Division of Student Affairs committees and projects and as an alternate member of the Care Team.
+ Lead residence hall move-in and move-out processes in collaboration with key stakeholders.
+ Provide leadership and guidance to residential life staff to assure goals, programs, activities, and personnel practices are consistent with and contribute to the Institution's goals and strategies.
+ Design and implement operating strategies, plans and procedures to assure smooth functioning of Residential Life and Community Standards.
+ Complete performance management feedback and goals per requirements.
+ Other reasonable duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
+ Bachelor's Degree from college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
+ 5 to 7 years of experience in collegiate Residential Life and Housing. Housing operations experience preferred.
