Director of Revenue Cycle

JOB SUMMARY
Under the general direction of the CFO plan, the Director Revenue Cycle is responsible for Patient Access Services (admissions, registration, scheduling, and authorization), Health Information Management, Revenue Cycle Management (Revenue Cycle Analysts and Program Management, CDM, RI and Provider Enrollment/Credentialing) as well as Patient Financial Services (billing and accounts receivable functions at the central business office).
In addition, the Director Revenue Cycle leads the quality improvement functions related to the Revenue Cycle, patient satisfaction, vendor relations and key performance indicators. The Director of Revenue Cycle establishes the strategic direction, operational vision, and implementation plan for Revenue Cycle to meet current and future demands in the identification of, billing, collecting, reporting and compliance of revenue at WhidbeyHealth Medical Center and Clinics.
The Director of Revenue Cycle must wholly support the WhidbeyHealth Mission, Vision and Standards of Behavior and be fully invested in the success of the staff and organization within our community. A qualified Director will demonstrate the ability to support and further a patient-centered care culture and provide caring and dedicated leadership to their team.
PRINCIPLE FUNCTIONS includes the following, other duties may be assigned:
+ Operations:
Oversees all Revenue Cycle operations to ensure effective customer service, patient access, and quality outcomes. Develops new programs or services as needed.
+ Regulatory Compliance:
Manages all Revenue Cycle services to maintain regulatory compliance and ensures Revenue Cycle is continually survey ready with accurate and complete documentation of department activities. Researches regulations and updates policies so that the department remains current.
+ Budget:
Develops operational and capital budgets for departments and manages Revenue Cycle so that operations/service costs remain below budget except for approved variances.
+ Performance:
Motivates and manages employee’s performance so that employees are recognized for meeting or exceeding job performance standards and are also aware and have a plan to improve performance for performance that is below standards. Ensures that all new employees receive evaluations at 90 days and each employee has an evaluation completed each year.
+ Quality Assurance:
Develops Quality metrics to measure Revenue Cycle outcomes and implements plans and programs to monitor, resolve, and improve metric results that are below acceptable standards.
+ Policy and Procedure:
Develops and prepares Policies & Procedures for Revenue Cycle departments which are aligned with organizational values, regulatory guidelines, and best practices for services provided. Reviews and updates Policies & Procedures and least annually.
+ Training:
Develops and implements an effective new hire department orientation plan as well as continued education plan for staff. Utilizes competency-based assessments to design education plans and documents staff competency at least annually.
+ Leadership:
Provides leadership for Revenue Cycle and adheres to organization Policies & Procedures, standards of behavior, and corporate compliance. Serves as model for staff and encourages teamwork with other departments. Communicates organizational values verbally and non-verbally and fosters followership in the organization.
+ Hiring:
Performs interviews, prepares work schedules and selects new employees to ensure Revenue Cycle is staffed with competent, skilled, and personable staff.
JOB KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management or related discipline preferred or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Training and Experience
Demonstrated relevant leadership experience required.
At least five (5) years working in the department or related experience preferred.

Salary Range: $140,000 - $180,000
