Director of Sales
Purpose:

The Director of Sales is responsible for creating and delivering sales strategies and initiatives for all new home products, services, in a designated market, in conjunction with the Marketing and Sales team.

 

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Strategic Vision

Maintains focus on the company’s strategic goals and develops and implement effective sales strategies and sales plans including sales targets; Defines sales objectives and directs department to achieve objectives established in the strategic plan, and instills motivation for the team to achieve performance objectives; 

Sales

Identifies and reports on business opportunities in target markets; Monitors, and analyzes sales and market trends; Targets new customers and new sales opportunities while developing, maintaining and improving business relations with existing customers; Provides guidance on the site construction opening and closing of sales centers and model homes/suites using knowledge of regulatory requirements and various site strengths and weaknesses; Leads new initiatives and proposed revenues and design features to develop new product lines; Ensures that the management of the Purchase of Sale process from point of sale to closing is strongly maintained by the Team; Deals with escalated customer issues using effective solutions; Liaise with internal departments as necessary to ensure inventory levels are adequate to meet sales objectives and that price points are fair, realistic and profitable; Ensures all sales centers are flawless in both their presentation and marketing appeal; Continually assess opportunities for lot and location premiums both prior to going on sale and during entire sell-out of community; Ensures that the products and services we offer our customers are consistent with the Minto Brand values and Brand proposition (lifestyle, innovation, design, sustainability = quality and value); Promotes the understanding and practice of decision-making consistent with Minto Brand “gates”:  business results, trust, and innovation; Participates in development and continuous improvement of internal service delivery processes; Ensures implementation of internal service delivery and quality assurance to meet standards and customer expectations as it relates to Sales; Understands Minto’s customer market and personas (according to community) and the ability to identify, assess and champion new business opportunities accordingly;

Financial Accountability

Achieves targets for revenue, profitability and sales growth; Monitors opportunities to adjust sales prices, that maximizes profit and acceptable rates of sale;

Management and Leadership

Leads and influences a successful and experienced team of sales professionals and fosters a positive work environment; Builds, manages, and maintains a high performance team through effective talent recruitment, coaching, and development; Sets high standards, establishes accountabilities and measures performance consistent with Minto’s Values; Ensures all parties adhere to health and safety standards and promote a healthy and safe work environment; Other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, as requested by management.

 

Technical competencies:

Education:  High School Education is required; Post Secondary Education either a University and/or Community College is an asset.

Experience: Minimum of ten (10+) years experience in sales and managing a team is required. 

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), Outlook Knowledge of  CRM is an asset Communication skills (listening, verbal and written) Diplomacy and honestly Leadership and Team player People with interpersonal skills Sincerity and Empathic Conflict resolution skills Attention to detail Proactive approach
