The franchisee is a separate company and a separate employer from Marriott International, Inc. The franchisee solely controls all aspects of the hotel’s employment policies and practices, including hiring, firing, discipline, staffing, compensation, benefits, and all other terms and conditions of employment. If you accept a position at this hotel, you will be employed by a franchisee and not by Marriott International, Inc. The Director of Sales position is responsible for generating top line revenue to meet or exceed budget expectations. Other primary responsibilities include: Solicits, evaluates, sells, and confirms business to meet overall budgeted sales and profit margin. Coordinates sales blitzes and utilizes available business tools to prospect for new business. Maintains awareness of the sales practices of the hotel's competitive set and is a "product expert" when selling against them. Ensures that he/she adheres to all sales administrative processes that are in place including preparation and submission of reports or internal communication and meets deadlines. Builds strong relationships and loyalty with top producing clients and maintains professional integrity. Oversees the coordination of various departmental activities as related to booked business to ensure customer satisfaction and hotel profitability Formulates and executes projects for all market areas as stated in the hotel Marketing Plan to increase sales volume and profitability Participates as required in solving problems with other departments related to booked business Follows up on progress of groups booked, such as room night pick-up, rooming lists and cut-off dates, with the Front Office Management to insure maximum occupancy on a daily basis. Enhances the property’s community image and stays abreast of competition, new developments, and sales methods and techniques in the hospitality industry to maximize profitability. Conducts and/or attends meetings to maintain favorable working relationships among company associates and to promote maximum morale, productivity and efficiency. Prepares reports, as requested, to develop a more informative data base for improved management decision making and critical evaluation of work activities. Job Requirements: Previous hotel sales experience including outside/direct sales experience Resume reflects a company devoted work history Be well-organized and have strong interpersonal skills Be competitive, self-motivated and team-oriented Exhibit exceptional written and verbal communication skills Have fully functional computer skills including experience with Word, Excel and PowerPoint Marriott Brand experience is a plus Pay: Open to discussion based upon experience Benefits: Vision, Dental, Health, and Life Insurance eligibility after 90 days.
