As a Director of Sales – Training & Development, you will be responsible for designing, leading, and executing a comprehensive sales training and leadership development strategy for District Sales Managers (DSMs), Sales Managers (SMs), and Factory Sales Representatives (FSRs). This role ensures that sales leaders and teams are equipped with the skills, coaching, and accountability necessary to drive revenue growth, enhance leadership effectiveness, and improve overall sales performance. The Director will also oversee National Sales Trainers as direct reports, ensuring alignment with company goals and sales methodologies.

 

Reporting to the Division President, this position plays a critical role in fostering a high-performance, growth-oriented sales culture within a multi-region, in-home sales environment.

Responsibilities

Sales Training & Leadership Development


• Develop and implement a structured sales leadership training program to enhance the effectiveness of DSMs, SMs, and FSRs.
• Lead the National Sales Trainers in delivering coaching programs that reinforce key sales processes and leadership development.
• Ensure consistent execution of best practices for onboarding, coaching, and continuous development of sales leaders and representatives.
• Design and refine sales playbooks, coaching frameworks, and LMS content to support knowledge retention and field execution.
• Provide direct coaching and mentorship to sales managers to enhance leadership skills, accountability, and team performance.


Sales Process Optimization & Accountability


• Establish a structured, repeatable sales training methodology that aligns with the company’s sales strategies.
• Partner with Regional Sales Leaders to identify performance gaps and implement targeted development plans.
• Introduce and reinforce sales coaching cadences, including performance evaluations and field training.
• Align training initiatives with key sales KPIs, ensuring a focus on conversion rates, productivity, and sales effectiveness.


Performance Management & Talent Development


• Develop a performance-based sales training framework to drive accountability and increase revenue per rep.
• Work with HR and Sales Leadership to define clear career pathing and development plans for sales professionals.
• Ensure that the training team effectively supports the company’s talent development, retention, and succession planning efforts.
• Monitor and analyze sales training impact metrics to optimize programs and measure ROI.
Market & Competitive Intelligence


• Continuously assess market trends, customer behaviors, and competitor strategies to refine training programs.
• Provide data-driven insights to enhance sales performance and adjust coaching methodologies.

 

Cross-Functional Collaboration


• Partner with Marketing, Product, and Operations teams to ensure sales training aligns with product positioning, lead generation, and customer engagement strategies.
• Act as a liaison between field sales and corporate leadership, ensuring training programs meet business needs.

Qualifications

Capabilities & Experience


• Strategic Leadership – Ability to design and execute a long-term vision for sales training and leadership development.
• Coaching & Development – Skilled in mentoring, training, and empowering sales leaders and teams to achieve peak performance.
• Process Optimization – Experience in building scalable and repeatable sales training and accountability systems.
• Data-Driven Decision Making – Ability to interpret performance metrics and adjust training strategies accordingly.
• High-Performance Culture – Expertise in fostering a results-driven, growth-focused sales environment.
• Change Leadership – Ability to implement transformational training initiatives and drive adoption across the organization.

• Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing sales teams in a multi-region, in-home sales environment focused on a one-call close.
• 10+ years of experience in sales leadership, training, and development within a direct-to-consumer, in-home sales model.
• Prior experience designing and implementing sales training programs, coaching frameworks, and LMS integration.
• Strong understanding of sales psychology, adult learning principles, and performance-based coaching.
• Ability to analyze sales KPIs and drive accountability through structured coaching and training programs.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; certifications in sales leadership, coaching, or training methodologies a plus
