Director of Sales Operations
Job Summary The Director of Sales Operations will be responsible for driving sales performance through accurate forecasting, quota management, and process optimization. The ideal candidate will work closely with sales leadership to enhance operational efficiency and support the achievement of sales goals. In collaboration with the senior leadership team, this role will manage deliverables necessary to fuel the organization’s revenue acquisition and retention. Responsibilities Sales Forecasting: Develop, maintain, and improve sales forecasting models to provide accurate projections. Analyze historical sales data and market trends to inform forecasts and identify potential challenges. Collaborate with sales leadership to validate and refine forecasts on a regular basis. Quota Management: Design and implement effective quota setting processes in alignment with business objectives. Monitor sales performance against quotas and provide insights and recommendations for adjustments as needed. Ensure transparency and clarity in quota distribution and expectations across the sales team. Reporting and Analysis: Create and maintain regular sales performance reports, dashboards, and metrics to track key performance indicators (KPIs). Conduct deep dives into sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement. Present findings and recommendations to sales leadership and other stakeholders. Process Optimization: Identify inefficiencies in the sales process and implement solutions to improve productivity and effectiveness. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes related to sales operations, CRM usage, and reporting. Sales Tools and Technology: Manage the implementation and ongoing support of sales tools and technologies that enhance operational efficiency. Provide training and support to the sales team on tools and processes to ensure optimal usage. Collaboration and Communication: Act as a liaison between sales, finance, and other departments to ensure alignment on goals and processes. Foster a culture of accountability and performance within the sales organization through regular communication and support. Ad Hoc Projects: Lead or support special projects related to sales strategy, operations, or technology enhancements as needed. Stay current on industry best practices and emerging trends in sales operations. Qualifications Education and Experience BA/BS Degree, MBA preferred. 5+ years of experience in sales operations, business analytics or similar role. Skills and Competencies Excellent business writing and communication skills; Excellent proofreading and editing skills. Expert-level knowledge of project and change management, methodologies, techniques and processes. Outstanding written/oral communication and persuasive writing/verbal skills. Proven ability to concurrently manage multiple projects with tight deadlines. Ability to influence and ensure people of all levels meet required deadlines. Must be able to travel Thinks expansively by combining ideas in unique ways or making connections between disparate ideas. A curiosity for product knowledge and to be perceived as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in current and new product offerings. A proactive desire to coach, mentor and develop staff. Demonstrates analytical thinking, such as: Gather and relate information from different sources to draw logical conclusions. Ability to identify, clarify and communicate the exact nature of internal/external customer’s problem or request and make solution recommendations. Ability to identify discrepancies and inconsistencies in available information and bring changes to light. Supports department and organizational initiatives. Strong critical thinking skills; problem solving, and decision making. Must have the ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reports. Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities. Ability to meet and exceed daily and weekly individual performance goals. Must be able to demonstrate the ability of maintaining privacy and confidentiality. Proactively or by request, performs additional duties and assumes additional responsibilities for the optimum operation of WorkCare. Computer Skills Must be competent in the Windows operating system environment, Adobe Professional, Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and learn other software as needed. Knowledge of project management tools (Asana, Smartsheet, Trello, Microsoft Project, etc.). Proficient in Salesforce, PMO Software, Proposal software. Physical Demands Requires sitting for long periods of time, working at a desk. Some bending and stretching could be required. Working under stress and use of computer/phone required. Manual dexterity required for use of computer keyboard. Occasionally may be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel and/or crouch. May occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Work Environment Work Environment must be free from background noise and distraction, noise level is acceptable, temperature is controlled. At home set up must meet all Company IT, privacy and safety requirements. Additional Job Information The salary range for this position is $115,000-$130,000 per year. Final compensation offered to the final candidate within this range depends on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and qualifications.
