Pay $75,000 - $85,000 (12-Month School District Calendar)
The Director of School Age Education is responsible to supervise daily department operations, coordinate and expand school services, ensure compliance with State Education Department and Office for People with Developmental Disabilities and Agency regulations and operating standards. Complete all records and reports, coordinate with other Agency programs and departments, teams, and external state and federal regulatory bodies, and other agency programs and providers, ensure department fiscal responsibility, ensure ongoing development of staff, and participate in agency activities as part of the administrative team.
Core Responsibilities
Supervise daily program/department operations, including budget monitoring, interviewing, hiring, scheduling and coverage, orientation, staff meetings, performance evaluation, discipline and termination. Coordinate existing services and expansion of department services, develop new programs, initiate innovations in line with program needs. Oversee and maintain the timely completion of all necessary records and reports. Coordinate with other agency programs departments and inter-disciplinary teams to ensure the delivery of quality services. Coordinate services with state and federal governmental and regulatory bodies, community and local agencies and health care providers, when applicable, to ensure that program needs are met. Ensure that the program/department operates in a fiscally responsible manner. Ensure ongoing staff in-service and professional development needs are met, and that staff certifications and/or licenses are current. Participate in activities as part of the administrative team that may include meetings, attending and/or conducting trainings and participating in or chairing committees Adhere to mandatory reporting regulations and HIPAA laws. Ensure compliance with all pertinent government and agency regulations and operating standards. Establish a work environment that creates positive relationships between supervisors and employees and assimilate new employees to the Agency culture, values and mission.
Qualifications
Master’s degree required. Experience as a Special Education Teacher preferred. 3-years paid experience in administration of education. NYSED School Building Leader or School Administrator certification. Travel is required. Must have a valid NYS Driver’s License.
