About this opportunity
This position will be part of the Global Capabilities Network. The goal of our team is to support Store Operations, which includes more than 65,000 North American store employees.  The Director of Security will be responsible for leading the company’s security initiatives, including the management of security teams that monitor and respond to camera and alarm systems across all locations in North America. The Director will develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks, prevent losses, and ensure the safety of customers, employees, and company assets.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, and manage the national security team, including camera operators, alarm system monitors, and field security personnel.Recruit, train, and evaluate security staff to ensure high performance.Develop and implement strategic initiatives for the operation and maintenance of surveillance cameras, alarm systems, and other security technologies across all stores and within the Security Operation Centers to enhance overall security and operational efficiency.Develop protocols for alarm responses, theft prevention, and incident escalation.Continuously identify and assess security risks across store locations to ensure the safety of our employees and customers. Implement and refine loss prevention strategies to protect company assets and enhance overall security measures.Develop, implement, and enforce company-wide security policies and procedures, including training and support for operational teams across North America.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to security operations.Prepare detailed reports and provide recommendations to prevent future incidents.Serve as the point of contact for law enforcement and emergency responders.Develop and manage the security department’s budget.Lead the procurement and contracting processes for security equipment vendors and service providers, ensuring the selection of high-quality partners and the negotiation of favorable terms. Manage vendor relationships to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and alignment with the company's security objectives

Skills and Competencies

Have a working knowledge of Retail Operations.Strong leadership and team management skills.Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.Expertise in security technology, including camera and alarm systems.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle emergencies effectively.Ability to interact with project teams from across the globe providing great experience and opportunity to contribute on a global scale.Availability to respond to security incidents during off-hours when necessary.

Qualifications

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams).Must be able to travel as needed – including local, and across North America.Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Business Administration, or related field.10+ years of experience in security management, preferably in a retail or multi-location environment.Proven experience in managing teams and advanced security systems.Excellent communication and organizational skills.Candidate must have the ability to maintain a positive team attitude and professional demeanor at all times.
