Job Overview:
The Director of Shared Services is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing the accounts receivable, accounts payable, treasury banking and financial reporting teams including ensuring performance, setting goals, and establishing a culture of collaboration and excellence.
As a high-level strategist, the Director will work closely with financial executive leadership to optimize financial processes and promote effective resource allocation.
Your Responsibilities:
Develops and executes strategies to optimize financial processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance,and efficiency. Drives the generation and review of financial reports and management reports and ensures the
team is producing accurate and timely reports. Coordinates cross-departmentally to streamline processes and improve the overall financial
workflow. Collaborates with stakeholders to establish efficient check runs, bank transfers, and abatements
procedures. Oversees the implementation and management of the adjustments process, including assessment
and A/R. Collaborate with GSS Shared Service Manager to ensure Accounts Payable process is meeting
the New York Market requirements Ensures compliance with the 1098 process & manages cashier's checks. Orchestrates treasury processes and real estate property taxes allocation for effective fund
management. Collaborates on closings, sweeps recurring ACH, and voiding checks to facilitate property
transitions. Manages client audit inquiries and P-Card one-time payments, while ensuring accuracy. Manages bank reconciliations, and ClickPay/CapOne returns and the debit card process. Develops and executes strategies for transitions to ensure seamless financial handling during property management changes. Facilitates property reassignment and scoring processes to optimize financial reporting distribution. Manages outsourcing activities related to financial processes, ensuring efficient and effective external partnerships. Development of KPI’s to measure and manage all processes. Collaborate with all levels of property managers to ensure best in class delivery. Transition and Collaborate with FSR National Global Shared Services transaction processing. Attracts, develops and retains a diverse team knowledgeable and capable of meeting the financial management needs of each client. Supports the onboarding of new financial management associates. Provides ongoing support with training, coaching and developing career paths for associates that desire growth opportunities. Regularly influences and mentors the team and communicates the importance of having a positive attitude, demonstrating professionalism, and maintaining a strong work ethic. Holds self and team accountable for completing leadership responsibilities and financial management tasks and activities in alignment with standard operating procedures and owning issues and solving problems in collaboration with other departments to deliver measurable business results Ensures team is consistent and high performing. Conducts ongoing performance management activities by providing constructive feedback and coaching through regular check ins, structured one-on-meetings, mid-year touchpoints and annual reviews. Has a regular team meeting cadence to review key performance indicators, update on company initiatives, discuss client expectations, review financials, address training needs and overall department objective. Builds trust and camaraderie with team and inspires and motivates teamwork. Cultivates an open team environment and seeks feedback. Leads and mentors the team to build on our service culture and results-based accountability for performance. Partners with Accounting leadership to develop onboarding training and routine training best practices to support and further develop the accounting team. Coordinates applicable accounting related training for accounting teams and broader property management group. Assists in the implementation of features and procedures to enhance the accounting department's workflow.
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from a four-year college or university is required. CPA certification, MBA or master’s degree is preferred. At least 10 years of experience as an Accountant in the property management industry or real estate field is preferred. At least five (5) years or more years leading and developing a team of direct and indirect reports with a proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams, promoting a culture of excellence and collaboration. Property Management and/or wealth management experience preferred. Strong understanding of financial processes including Banking, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and financial reporting. Exceptional strategic thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with senior leadership, stakeholders, and external partners. Proficiency in financial software, Excel, and accounting systems. Ability to drive process optimization, resource allocation, and cross-departmental coordination. Strategic mindset with the ability to influence and guide financial operations at the highest level. Introducing collaborative change and change management when appropriate.Additional Duties and Responsibilities

Compensation:
$150000 - $170000 / year
