Position Overview:

The Director of Social Services will oversee all case management and social services at the City Sanctuary Hotel site. In the role of Director of Social Services, the primary objective is to ensure the smooth functioning of case management and social services. The Director of Social Services will play a pivotal role in driving the success of the program by coordinating services and referral linkages with community care providers to ensure client needs are met.

Position Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in social work, criminal justice or another human services field. LMSW or LMHC preferred.Two years of relevant experience working with people who enter the U.S. seeking asylum or experience working in residential settings..Fluent in English and Spanish (written and verbal) preferred.Experience supervising social services staff in the delivery of culturally sensitive, trauma-informed services.Solid understanding of immigration laws, regulations, procedures, and benefits/entitlements.Experience navigating the DOE and ACS systems.Crisis intervention experience required.Must be organized as well as have excellent verbal, written and communication skills.Ability to work collaboratively with families, collaborating agencies, and community professionals.Able to effectively manage significant documentation.Able to prioritize and be accountable for timeliness to complete projects.Possess sensitivity to the service population’s cultural and socio-economic characteristics.Ability to organize, multitask and prioritize duties and responsibilities efficiently.Must be flexible with time as this position may require some evenings and or weekends.The Children’s Village does not discriminate against any employee, prospective employee or contractor because of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, creed, age, national origin, citizenship status, physical or mental disability, marital status, veteran status, genetic predisposition, domestic violence victim status, criminal conviction history or any other protected classification under federal, state or local law.
