Director of Software Engineering
Introduction to the job

As a software engineering director, you will be leading a technical team and provide both people and technology leadership, and contribute to the definition, development, integration, and supporting collaterals for software optimized for SEM inspection and metrology, increasing system throughput and computation efficiency. Drive innovation in software solutions to satisfy customer needs in semiconductor industry

Role and responsibilities

Lead and manage software development for Ebeam metrology, collaborate with product and software platform architects to drive infrastructure, architectural and algorithm solutions and deliverables for our customers

Work with Software and other D&E teams (hardware, applications), as as well as Programs and System Engineer to drive and deliver solutions

Contribute and drive machine learning/deep learning development to support HMI product roadmap

Make critical software design decisions and gate delivery quality for team

Engage with customers on metrology and/or algorithm-related discussions to enable D&E solutions

Coach, lead, and mentor the team, provide hands-on guidance on design and implementation, and be responsible for the team's growth and development

Education and experience

MS or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related physical sciences/engineering field. PhD is plus.

10+ years of research or hand-on development in software development lead, Machine learning engineer or related role

10+ years in technical and hands-on experiences in software engineering management

Experience in productizing and deploying software to customers; ML solutions to customers is preferred

Solid skills in C/C++ structural programming to guide the team

Good communication and organizational skills

Direct experiences in semiconductor software industry is highly preferred

Ability to work on multiple complex projects and translate requirements from internal and external customer’s into internal requirements and delivery schedule and scope

Managing the performance of the team and develop a high performance culture

Influence without authority, and leverage experiences and maturity to enhance the dynamics of the teams

Ability to lead (internal & external) customer engagement/discussions with customer-oriented focus and commitment

Project management experiences and business acumens to complete a deliverables within timeline and resource constraints.

Possess system-level, end-to-end, holistic picture thinking and understanding, without losing technical detail & accuracy.

Proven ability to perform effectively in a complex, demanding, and x-dependent (matrix) environment and adapt to dynamic business-required shifts

Result driven and demonstrate ownership and accountability.

Identifies and remove bottlenecks for the team both technically and organizationally

Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships across teams in and out of Software department, and D&E.

The current base annual salary range for this role is currently:

$216,375-360,625

Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.
