As a Director of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within Compute Platforms, you lead a technical area and drive impact within teams, technologies, and projects across departments. Utilize your in-depth knowledge of software, applications, technical processes, and product management to drive multiple complex projects and initiatives, while serving as a primary decision maker for your teams and be a driver of innovation and solution delivery.

Job responsibilities

 

Manage multiple agile software delivery teams and partner with the Product partners to drive technology deliveryDeliver solutions leveraging modern technologies including cloud backed APIs and microservices utilizing distributed database technologiesManage all aspects of technology deliveryProvide leadership and high-level direction to teams while frequently overseeing employee populations across multiple areasLeads technology and process implementations to achieve functional technology objectivesMakes decisions that influence teams’ resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and proceduresCarries governance accountability for coding decisions, control obligations, and measures of success such as cost of ownership, maintainability, and portfolio operationsDelivers technical solutions that can be leveraged across multiple businesses and domainsInfluences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and technology teamsChampions the firm’s culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

 

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience. In addition, 5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise.Experience developing or leading large or cross-functional teams of technologistsExperience with trading platform, trading front ends and middle-tiersExpertise in microservices, micro frontends, messaging & data technologiesDemonstrated prior experience influencing across highly matrixed, complex organizations and delivering value at scaleExperience leading complex projects supporting system design, testing, and operational stabilityExperience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talentExtensive practical cloud native experienceExpertise in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field
