**GENERAL SUMMARY AND PURPOSE:**
The position reports to the Vice President Operation, for SAMG with direct reports of Managers for the assigned areas of the physician network. The position will have a Dyad relationship with the Medical Director team.
The position has responsibility ranging from day-to-day operational workflow, development of services, and development of relationships with internal and external customers, financial management and active participation in strategic planning as well as defining the strategic objectives, growth plans, and investments needed to expand community services within specific service areas in the medical group. Partners with the Executive Medical Directors and Hospital Presidents for defined SAMG programs.
**SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:**
Must possess a master’s degree in business or healthcare related field, with twelve (15) or more years of related experience. Must have working knowledge of hospital operations, physician network effectiveness, and experience working closely with physicians in a dyad fashion. 15+ years of progressive experience in developing, overseeing or interacting with physician groups, product lines, population health and/or business development activities, in a large, complex, healthcare organization.
Experience in transition and integration of new clinics and colleagues through organic or inorganic growth, establishment of greenfield development including new clinic start-ups, program development, advanced equipment installations.
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:**
Lead, mentor, and inspire SAMG managers and colleagues to enthusiastically support the mission of the organization and program initiatives. Partner with SAHS strategy department to gain and grow community market presence in defined SAMG programs. Executes successfully the established plans and the services for the areas of responsibility within the physician network through analysis, measurement and monitoring, reporting, and adjusting the direction, allocation and utilization of available resources.
Facilitates and manages team culture and performance through the effective use of process improvement techniques, business and financial knowledge and skills, and interpersonal communication. Comprehensive understanding of HRO elements and ability to teach and educate on use of elements in daily operations. Effectively builds positive and productive relationships with physicians and providers that promote working together on strategic, financial and operational goals. Works collaboratively with clinic and departmental medical staff leadership in the strategic and daily operations of the clinics or departments. Develops assigned aspects of the organizational strategic and tactical plans in concert with planning processes lead by SAMG Senior Leadership.
Understanding of and commitment to patient centered health care. Knowledge of state and federal health care regulatory requirements. Excellent knowledge regarding budget development and financial monitoring, indicators and performance. Excellent interpersonal skills with physicians and providers, and clinic and administrative staff. Strong knowledge and experience in developing teams across a diverse group of people. Ability to make clear and concise presentations at formal meetings; excellent verbal and written communication. Ability to develop organizational strategic and tactical plans to meet organizational strategic initiatives.
