Director of Structural Engineering

Director of Structural Engineering is responsible for overseeing all structural engineering activities and managing a team that supports every aspect of OUS’s core business. This encompasses the engineering work necessary for project execution, providing technical support for both new and existing products and projects, and collaborating with Product Managers on Steel Services Engineering. The Director of Structural Engineering also plays a key role in supporting sales efforts for all services and products while serving as the technical expert for Steel Structures.

This in office position is located in Downtown Atlanta.

Responsibilities: Lead team that conducts calculations for the design of structural steel and concrete restoration. The designs vary in complexity and involve the reinforcement, restoration, and support of transmission line towers and poles. Provide support and Quality Assurance for designated transmission structure projects within the steel and concrete Corrosion Services team, including inspections, engineering, repairs, and cathodic protection. Aid in the planning and prioritization of structural corrosion control and cathodic protection within project parameters. Prepare reports and technical documentation. Communicate with customers through phone, email, and web as needed to assist the Corrosion Services team. Deliver live training sessions, webinars, and demonstrations as required to meet the training needs of existing and potential clients regarding corrosion inspection and repair. Conduct inspections and fieldwork in compliance with contract specifications. Assist pilot projects across all business units by providing field support, drafting reports, and gathering data for presentations. Contribute to R&D projects by engaging in fieldwork, collecting data, compiling information, and writing reports. Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred. Minimum 5 years of progressive industry experience required. Minimum 4 years of supervisory experience required. Professional engineering license is required. NCEES record is preferred. Background and present responsibilities must substantiate leadership and self-motivational qualities.
