Responsibilities

Sign-on Bonus - $20K

 

We are seeking a skilled Director of Surgical Services to lead our hospital's Surgery Department. Your responsibilities will include overseeing Ambulatory Surgery, Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), Robotic Surgery, and Cardiovascular Surgery. Your primary objective will be to enhance patient care quality and ensure the safety and efficiency of surgical interventions.

The Director of Surgical Services is instrumental in driving performance improvement initiatives by actively engaging in Performance Improvement (PI) activities and crafting the department's budget. This pivotal role guarantees the smooth operation and advancement of surgical services.

 

- Manage daily operations to ensure efficient teamwork among surgical teams and streamlined patient care from preoperative preparation to recovery.

- Supervise the hiring, training, and scheduling of surgeons, surgical nurses, anesthesiologists, and support staff to promote strong patient care.

- Handle the financial aspects by overseeing expenses for supplies, equipment, and staffing to optimize the budget.

- Set long-term goals in collaboration with hospital executives, implementing new technologies, programs, and enhancing department capabilities.

- Coordinate clinical, administrative, and financial functions to cultivate a high-performance environment for the entire surgical team.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

Current and valid state license as a Registered Nurse.Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)-(AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.2 years of Supervisory/Management experience.2 years of experience in Surgical Nursing Current PALS (AHA) Certificate upon hire and maintain current.Current Certified Nurse OR (CNOR) (AORN) certificate(s) upon hire, preferred.Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Our Total Rewards package includes, but is not limited to, paid time off, a 401K retirement plan, medical, dental, and vision coverage, tuition reimbursement, and many more voluntary benefit options.  Benefits may vary based on employment status, i.e. full-time, part-time, per diem or temporary.  A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $130,000.00 to $170,000.00 on an annualized basis. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
