The Director of Tax, North America will oversee the tax function for the U.S. and Canadian Subsidiary of Hugo Boss including preparation of the quarterly tax provision, federal and state income tax returns, sales and use tax compliance, and preparation of property tax returns. This person will have the overall responsibility for federal and state tax audits.
What you can expect:
Responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:
\n\n\n\tOversees the state income and federal consolidated tax returns of the companies, this includes data gathering, managing, and reviewing returns\n\tOverall responsibility for all areas of Tax including: Sales Tax, Unclaimed Property Tax, Property Tax, Transfer Pricing, and Business Licenses \n\tPreparation and calculation of deferred taxes in cooperation with tax consultants. Contains preparation of quarterly tax-related disclosures required for the group reporting\n\tManages tax accounting in SAP for tax provision and related accounts\n\tReconciles tax data with financial statement and works closely with accountants to ensure information for tax compliance. Furthermore, observation and improvement of the tax fixed asset register will round off the tax accounting activity\n\tHelps to minimize tax risk and audit internal controls for accuracy, established internal tax memorandums\n\tMonitors changes in tax law and analysis possible impacts on the company’s tax exposure\n\tLeads state and federal tax audits as needed.\n\tCommunicates on a regular basis with tax consultants, parent company (tax department) and audit firm on any tax issues (e.g. tax audit for year-end closing)\n\tResearch tax-related issues as requested (e.g., tax implications of a new retail location) for US and Canada\n\tWorks closely with all Business Stakeholders including but not limited to - Sales, Legal, HR and Property\n\t \n
Your profile:
\n\tBS/BA in Finance or Accounting; MBA in taxation is a plus\n\t8 - 10 years of professional tax experience required, with emphasis on deferred taxation and/or federal tax filings\n\tKnowledge of SAP a plus\n\tTransfer pricing knowledge is a plus\n\tProficiency with Microsoft applications (particularly Excel) \n\tMust be able to work independently and take initiative; have a hands-on mentality\n\tDetail oriented and enthusiastic \n\tStrong verbal and communication skills as well as project management skills\n\tAbility to multitask and work under deadlines

The expected base salary range for this position is from $170,000 - $190,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered.
