Job Description:

Get ready for an exhilarating role! The Director of Transportation is at the helm, overseeing and managing every facet of the organization's transportation operations. This dynamic position involves crafting and executing innovative transportation strategies, ensuring strict adherence to trade regulations, optimizing logistics processes, and leading a talented team of transportation professionals. You'll collaborate closely with other departments to deliver efficient and cost-effective transportation solutions that align perfectly with the company's ambitious goals and objectives.

THE DAY TO DAY...

Oversee the daily operations of the transportation department, including fleet management, route planning, and scheduling

Participate in strategic planning to develop and implement transportation road maps and strategies that optimize logistics and reduce costs

Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and safety standards

Collaborate with other departments to coordinate transportation needs and improve overall supply chain efficiency

Manage relationships with transportation providers and negotiate contracts to secure favorable terms

Monitor and analyze transportation performance metrics and implement improvements as needed

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of transportation professionals

Prepare and manage the transportation budget, ensuring cost-effective operations

Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continuously improve transportation processes

Plan and implement technology affecting functional areas to improve execution, productivity, and quality

Manage trade compliance execution of the transportation process, including import and export activities, ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations and standards

Conduct regular risk assessments of transportation activities to identify and mitigate risks

Participates in the development and maintenance of policies and procedures for international shipping and customs compliance

Coordinate with international logistics providers to ensure smooth and compliant transportation of goods across borders

THE QUALIFICATIONS...

Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's Degree preferred

Minimum of 7 years of experience in transportation management or a similar role

Professional certifications such as Certified Transportation Professional (CTP) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) preferred

Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance requirements

Proven experience in developing and implementing transportation strategies

Excellent leadership and team management skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Effective communication and negotiation skills

Proficiency in transportation management software and other relevant tools.

Experience with international transportation and logistics
