The Director of UI/UX leads a team of skilled UI/UX designers to create, maintain, and optimize a system to support the high volume of production of SaaS UI/UX designs leveraging a carefully managed design system. This person acts as a liaison with engineering leaders to configure the design to enable expedited time to code for repeated UI components. The Director of UI/UX works closely with the VP of Product to execute concepts, prototypes, and forward-looking designs to support innovation goals and storytelling to business alignment.

Responsibilities Drives development, identification, adoption, and maintenance of design system(s) through adapting existing platform design into a cohesive, consistent, and executable design system.Ensures the maintenance and management of the design system in Figma for consistency and scalability across products.Establishes throughput expectations, meeting high-quality expectations with an emphasis on efficiency to support a rapid-paced software development life cycle.Defines and monitors SLA’s, performance throughput, and qualitative expectations for team members.Oversees collaboration of designers with product teams, ensuring the production of high-fidelity wireframes and walkthroughs ready for development. Collaborates with architecture and engineering teams to ensure seamless code outputs and plugins for Figma, expediting and standardizing development implementation of reusable components and designs.Performs continuous evaluation of the team to align qualitative measures demonstrating the impact of team performance. Keeps end-user focus constantly in mind, utilizing product analytics data to drive efficiency by reducing repetitive/inefficient workflows and creating a positive and intuitive user experience.Responsible for hiring, onboarding, and managing UI/UX designers and proactively building design skills for their team and supporting systems to ensure the highest performance levels.Establishes and inspects that consistent and approved UI/UX design best practices are followed in tight collaboration with other department leaders.Delegates appropriately and holds UI/UX designers accountable for their workloads and efficient throughput.Encourages a culture of open feedback and continuous improvement, prioritizing user-centered design principles.Oversees and routinely inspects and evaluates the work of UI/UX designers to ensure adherence against expectations and validation of work supporting quality. Provides supportive leadership in guiding colleague career development, including executing the annual review process and providing ad hoc feedback and recognition.Champions and models Origami Risk’s values (Prioritize Clients’ Trust and Success, Innovate with an Entrepreneurial Spirit, Collaborate and Win as a Team).Other strategic projects as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree – Business, liberal arts, science, or engineering; MBA a plus.10+ years product leadership experience.Must have a thorough understanding of business and product development, relationship, and project management.Agile expertise a plus.Relevant industry experience.
