**Position Description:**
Directs, plans, coordinates and supervises the operations and activities of a specialized unit or small department; develops and implements policies and procedures, administers the budget, organizes tasks and sets priorities. Serves as liaison with university personnel and community at large. Works under general supervision with broad latitude for initiative and independent judgement.
The Director of UI/UX will be responsible for leading UX/UI designers to create engaging and user-friendly digital experiences across our platforms, enhancing brand presence, and ensuring that all digital marketing assets are visually appealing and optimized for the best user experience. This role requires a deep understanding of both user interface design and user experience principles, with a strong emphasis on how these concepts contribute to effective communication and marketing strategies.

**Major/Essential Functions:**
+ Supervise UX/UI designers and provide mentorship and guidance to web team members.
+ Develop intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces and design systems for websites, landing pages, and other digital assets. Ensure designs align with brand guidelines and enhance the user experience.
+ Conduct user research and testing to understand target audiences, gather insights, and identify user needs. Translate findings into wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs.
+ Work closely with the marketing, content, and web development teams to conceptualize, design, and implement user-centric digital solutions that meet marketing goals and business objectives.
+ Create responsive and adaptive designs that provide an optimal experience across a wide range of devices, including desktops, tablets, and smartphones.
+ Develop interactive prototypes and wireframes to visualize and communicate design ideas effectively to stakeholders and developers.
+ Participate in A/B testing and analyze results to improve user experience and conversion rates across digital platforms.

**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, user experience design or a related field. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
+ 10+ years of working experience in UX/UI design
+ A portfolio of successful UX/UI projects.
+ Proficiency in creating responsive web designs
+ Working knowledge of web accessibility standards.
+ Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD), Figma, Sketch, or similar.
+ Strong understanding of web development technologies (HTML, CSS, JS).
+ Strong foundational knowledge in web design methodologies and best practices.
+ Familiarity with Modern Campus content management systems (CMS) and marketing platforms.
+ Experience in a leadership role overseeing team operations.
+ Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
+ Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
+ Ability to express ideas and information clearly, concisely, and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
+ Respectful, cooperative, and effective in interacting with a diverse group of employees and stakeholders.
