Job Description Summary

We are seeking a San Antonio/Nashville/Pune based Director of Vendor Risk Management to join and lead AB’s enterprise Vendor Risk Management Program.

Team/Group Description

Vendor Risk Management collaborate with subject matter experts across a variety of domains (ex: Privacy, InfoSec, BCM etc) to deliver AB’s enterprise Vendor Risk Management Program, encompassing approximately 6K engagements.  The VRM team configure the vendor risk management platform, its workflows and its integrations, develop firm-wide training, Inherent Risk and Due Diligence Questionnaires, and support regulatory obligations and event response.  The VRM Team provide guidance on the content and format of the questionnaires, partner with Enterprise Risk to ensure consistent participation and interpret and present the output of the program to senior leadership.

Role Description

The Director of Vendor Risk Management uses subject matter expertise regarding existing and emerging industry best practices to direct the enterprise Vendor Risk Management Program.  The Director of Vendor Risk Management collaborates with other internal subject matter experts to create appropriate questions and escalation points for their respective risk domains and coordinates regular maintenance of firm-wide Vendor Risk training and Policies. The Director of Vendor Risk Management manages the Pune-based Vendor Risk Management Team in configuration of the vendor risk management platform and administration of the annual cycles of internal and external risk assessment, converting their output into meaningful risk insights for AB’s Oversight Committees and Senior Leadership.  This position will report to the Director of Operational Risk, Global Operations & Technology in San Antonio, Texas.

Applications and business or enterprise functions the role supports

AB’s Vendor Risk Management Team utilize the vendor-provided vendor/third-party risk management platform ProcessUnity, with connectivity into the contract management, CMDB and accounts payable systems to create a holistic inventory and ongoing cycle of control.  The Vendor Risk Management Committee is a sub-committee of the Operational Risk Oversight Committee (OROC) and is chaired in partnership with Enterprise Risk. 

Key job responsibilities include, but are not limited to

•    Understand the rapidly evolving best practices of vendor risk management as a domain
•    Coalesce the data collected through annual exercises to deliver meaningful insights 
•    Support new and existing regulatory obligations and regional requirements.
•    Develop domain expertise in the Vendor Risk Management Team
•    Govern the architecture and interfaces of the vendor risk management platform. 
•    Articulate the practical value and meaning of vendor risk management to partners across our business.
