Within the Central Product Group, the Customer Experience and Innovation team is focused on customer experience, innovation and product development in the field of emerging technologies. We are looking for a product director to join our team and lead the development of our flagship innovation solutions.

Role Overview

Moody’s Central Product Group is looking for a new leader for the Open Source Program Office (OSPO) to join us in our NYC or London office or remotely, working primarily EST time zone hours. In this role, you will be part of a globally distributed organization within the innovation team. You will be responsible for curating Moody’s role as a respected steward in open source communities. OSPO defines the strategy and provides centralized resources, services, and management for the communities and foundations that Moody’s invests in. Either as a partner, contributor or participant.


Essential Job Functions

Develop and internally evangelize Moody’s Open Source strategy.Lead the partnerships and relationships with OS entities such as FINOS and LF.Support delivering the GenAI OS projects.Working closely with legal peers, define and implement policies, processes, and tools that reduce risk and reduce friction.Manage and participate in technical due diligence activities, for inbound uses of Open Source software, outbound contributions to Open Source projects, and acquisitions of companies leveraging Open Source and/or Open business models.Provide motivation, leadership, and guidance for Moody’s employees who also participate in these due-diligence activities.Develop and operationalize our Internal Open Source strategy, the application of Open Source processes to closed-source projects to support company-wide participation in those projects.Provide external visibility for Moody’s Open Source efforts, and leadership for Moodys’s interactions with Open Source communities.

Position Requirements

Meaningful participation and visible presence in the Open Source community. You have built an OSPO before.Familiarity with the legal, social, and technical issues that arise during Open Source development, especially the opportunities and risks posed by integrating open source into proprietary systems.Demonstrated ability to get things done, to translate big ideas into productive action.Experience guiding decision and action in organizations, and creating efficient processes for others to follow.Understanding of how software development is managed in a distributed, multi-platform operating environment at an Internet company.Strong written and verbal communication skills, including a solid public-speaking ability.Bachelors Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, advanced-degree preferred.

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $160,100.00 - $232,100.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for a completion bonus. Moody’s also offers insurance and a discounted employee stock purchase plan for limited duration employees.
