JR68282 Director - OSAT & EMS Procurement

As the OSAT & EMS Procurement Director at Micron Technology, Inc., you will manage a large strategic supplier or suppliers through advanced techniques, models, and processes that result in high quality supplier support when providing goods and services. This includes but is not limited to activities that support strategic initiatives, supplier performance management, global supplier coordination, sourcing activities, and healthy supplier relationships.

In this leadership role, you are expected to collaborate with trust and respect your team of Category Supplier Managers, your internal stakeholders consisting of External Manufacturing, Planning, Finance, Business Units, etc. as well as external stakeholders like suppliers. You will engage in and lead the development and implementation of supplier strategies to optimize cost, supply, and quality. Additional responsibilities include negotiating terms, conditions, and pricing to leverage spend, leading and participating in department projects, serving as a primary contact for industry and supplier information, and acting as a mentor for other members within the Procurement organization.

Roles & Responsibilities

Own the Global Relationship for a Large Strategic Supplier or Suppliers

Be the primary point of contact for a global supplier that spans many processes and types of materials/tools and act as "one source of truth" for the accountPerform or participate in commercial supplier qualification activities to ensure the commercial development of strategic suppliersServe as lead for cross-category and significant company to company escalations; support category escalations for assigned suppliers as neededServe as the center of knowledge for assigned supplier(s) and share knowledge with key stakeholders and members of the category teams to enable more effective planning, forecasting and executionCommunicate key supplier management updates and decisions to multiple levels in the organization, including Executive LeadershipMaintain collaborative relationships with supplier(s) while effectively resolving supplier performance/capability issues to ensure alignment with Micron's strategic directionCommunicate supplier performance management results and activities for assigned suppliers to the Category Senior Management

Responsible for the Commercial Supplier Relationship and Escalation

Support supplier qualification activities to ensure the commercial development of a strategic supplierEnsure supplier contracts meet stakeholder needs and both parties comply with terms once finalizedMaintain collaborative relationships with the supplier while effectively resolving supplier performance/capability issues to ensure alignment with Micron's strategic directionEnsure the supplier complies with Micron's code-of-conduct programs and corporate social responsibility initiativesCreate and foster a collaborative environment with suppliers to generate optimum value to the Micron network.Enlist senior management, when appropriate, to help reinforce commitment and involvement from suppliers

Identify and Implement Supplier-Related Savings Levers

Incorporate savings targets and contract requirements across categories into negotiationsParticipate in supplier segmentation and strategic goal settingCoordinate supplier initiatives with Category Supplier ManagersProvide market intelligence and price trends to relevant internal stakeholders on a disciplined scheduleUtilize should-cost models that are benchmarked and relevant to the global marketplaceServe as the center of knowledge and share knowledge with key stakeholders and members of the category teams to enable more effective planning, forecasting and execution

Drive a Holistic Negotiation Strategy with Supplier for New Business and Sustaining Purchases

Collaborate across categories to ensure unified negotiation plansLead or participate in negotiations for contract extensions and renewals, renegotiation of prices, transfers, etc.Coordinate with Category Supplier Managers to incorporate sourcing events/RFQ process into bundled negotiationIncorporate savings targets and contract requirements into negotiationsDevelop a contract strategy for suppliers and create, negotiate, monitor and enforce contracted terms and conditions 

Ensure Supplier Performance Management

Partner with Category Supplier Managers and stakeholders to build comprehensive view of supplier performanceAssist Category Team in relaying site specific priorities to supplierCollaborate internally to drive and develop key performance measures/metrics and monitor supplier performance against these expectations to ensure continuous supplier improvementSupport Category Supplier Managers in organizing and delivering on supplier events, such as Quarterly Business Reviews, Annual Supplier Evaluations, and Executive Review Meetings

Collaborate with Stakeholders to Deliver Strategic Solutions

Develop and maintain expertise in the assigned supplier(s) through relationshipsImplement processes to monitor stakeholder satisfaction with key suppliersDrive customer-centric approach to solving issues and representing ProcurementMaintain close interaction with business partners to ensure supplier-related needs are addressedManage conflict and build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholdersProvide advice to senior and executive management on strategic decisions related to the supplier(s)
