In 2017, the Medical Center completed a state-of-the-art campus expansion featuring a new four-story 87,000 square foot building with a private, 32 bed Intensive Care Unit, new Main Entrance and Lobby, Retail Pharmacy, Patient Registration Area and newly expanded Emergency Department Qualifications: Required: + Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited school + Minimum of 3 years experience in Behavioral Health + Successful completion of all Orientation Programs + Maintains current BEST training; obtains within 3 months of initial assignment Preferred: + MSN from an accredited school Certifications and Licenses Required: + Current Registered Nurse License in the State of New Jersey + Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association + Certifications as required by law, stature, and/or regulation for area or specialization Scheduling Requirements: + Day Shift, 40 hours a week + Full-Time + Monday Friday, every other weekend and holiday rotation Essential Functions: + Provides 24 hour accountability for patient care delivery + Ensures that quality nursing care is delivered to all patients on his/her nursing unit in accordance with the philosophy, policies, procedures and program plans of the hospital + Assists with the development of patient care standards, orientation and continuing education + Evaluates staff performance in accordance with organizational policies + Develops, implements and maintains unit budget, + Participates in nursing quality assurance + Maintains unit administration including scheduling and maintains of supplies and equipment + Uses and understands the principles of growth and development to assess each patient s age specific needs and provide age specific treatment and care + Develops and implements policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of services + Promotes quality of patient care through the following: Develops/revises plan for patient care delivery in assigned areas; Identifies and corrects actual/potential problems; Recommends/selects appropriate indicators to measure performance; Implements and enforces the national patient safety goals; Communicates QA & PI findings as required Other Duties: Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
