About the roleWe have an exciting opportunity for a values-led leader who will play a key role driving strategic and tactical People centered initiatives across the APAC business unit. You will have the ability to personally make a significant impact through transformational and organisational development programs working in partnership with site People teams, and Centres of Excellence teams.
Reporting to the Head of People - APAC, you will bring your exceptional business partnering skills and commercial acumen to a role supporting a dynamic operational environment. You will partner with leaders to guide Newmont operations across the APAC business unit and work alongside a collaborative People team who are committed to upholding the Newmont Values.
This position will be based at our Brisbane hub; however, relocation assistance is available for the right candidate.
Your key responsibilities will include Apply People strategic projects to enhance operational effectiveness and productivity, aligned to APAC BU business needs and global People strategy, Includes applying effective change management strategies to ensure the success of these projects.Deliver People Business Partnering consultation and assistance to Business Unit and Enterprise leaders on people issues and applicable company policies, procedures, and within legislative requirements.Create and initiate feedback loops to confirm APAC BU and site considerations are incorporated into COE and BU People strategy.Update and communicate APAC BU HR policies, standards and guidelines, confirming alignment to People strategy according to legislative requirements.Represent as APAC BU People Change Practitioner, optimizing change management capability across the BU and sites by applying change management strategy and tools into People Projects.Oversee APAC BU People functional planning and budget process, actuals reporting and full potential tracking, confirming that resources are applied efficiently and effectively to achieve the organization's goals.Guide the APAC BU People teams to apply initiatives to achieve the BU’s people strategic plans, tactics and projects.Support the APAC BU People Head with presentation deliverables, talking points, and special projects as needed.Implement and monitor employee engagement initiatives to optimize APAC BU, People experience.What else will you bring to the role?Ideally, you’ll be a naturally curious, collaborative and driven individual who is constantly seeking to improve the way things are done. About YouTertiary qualification in Human Resources / Industrial Relations, Business, Commerce or LawBroad Human Resources expertise, with proven success implementing people strategies for large, complex organisations at Business Unit level. Advanced proficiency in change management, including the ability to design, implement, and oversee change initiatives effectively. Expertise in workforce planning, with the capability to generate accurate workforce planning inputs that align with business strategies. Strong business advisory skills, providing strategic guidance and insights to business units. Proficiency in investigating cases, with the ability to initiate escalation as per the triage process. Experience in leading and driving enterprise programs, ensuring successful delivery and alignment with organizational goals. Familiarity with establishing and maintaining strategic feedback loops into Centers of Excellence (COE) to inform and improve People practices. Proficiency in using Human Resources software and tools to support change management, workforce planning, and program delivery. Ability to leverage data and analytics to drive informed decision-making and demonstrate the impact of People initiatives.
