**Job Summary and Qualifications**
The Director of Physician Contract Administration oversees the respective HCA division and facilities’ physician contracting process for professional and administrative service agreements. Responsible for obtaining appropriate internal approvals, drafting, finalizing and maintaining new and existing agreements and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. Establishes and maintains relationships between the division contracting department and facility administration, legal counsel, and other relevant parties as needed. Supervises contract administrators and generates reports and tracking systems for the purpose of tracking the physician contracts inventory. Maintains and ensures the integrity of the Physician Contract Management database for the respective HCA division and ensures the database system is used to produce all physician agreements within the respective HCA division.
**DUTIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:**
**1.** **Overall responsibility for targeted planning, coordination and monitoring of the physician contracting process throughout the respective HCA division.**
**2.** **Establish and maintain a database of all physician contracts to which division or facility is a party.**
**3. Establish and maintain a filing system for hard copies of all agreements.**
**4. Coordinate the physician contracting process from pre-approval of concepts through final execution of the agreement. This will include serving as the clearinghouse for all corporate, division or facility staff and departments who wish to enter into a contractual relationship with a physician or physician entity on behalf of a facility or the division.**
**5. Supervise Physician Contract Administrators in all task including but not limited to drafting/editing contracts, accuracy of data base reporting and maintenance, securing internal approvals of contracting terms, ensuring timely execution of contracts by all parties and compliance with policies and procedures.**
**6. Assess the contracts for the required elements and the required supporting documentation for compliance with policy.**
**7. Interface and communicate with various parties and/or departments including but not limited to, facility administration, department leadership, legal counsel, referral source providers, valuators, accounting and corporate departments.**
**8. Educate hospital staff members regarding the contracting process and lead follow-up refresher courses and trainings as necessary.**
**9. Track/update the contract preparation/review process, as needed.**
**10. Ensure the necessary signatures or approvals are obtained on the contract and other required documents in a timely manner.**
**11. Disseminate the contract as necessary to the parties and pertinent internal departments.**
**12. Initiate monthly reviews with facilities to discuss new and current contracts in process as well as contracts that are due for renewal.**
**13. Coordinate the request for and maintenance of independent fair market value reports as required** **.**
**14. Perform other duties at the direction of division leadership.**
**Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required:**
**· General knowledge of the healthcare industry.**
**· General knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements, compliance and relevant state and federal laws.**
**· High degree of initiative, critical thinking and analytical skills.**
**· Strong written and verbal skills, ability to use databases, Microsoft Office, and other software applications.**
**· Strong ability to multi-task and handle various requests from multiple facilities and parties.**
**· Strong organization skills and ability to prioritize workload based on facility/division needs.**
**· Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.**
**What qualifications you will need:**
+ Bachelor’s Degree required in healthcare or business related field; Master’s Degree preferred.
+ Four or more years of relevant experience required; legal and/or contracting experience preferred.
