What can you expect?

This role requires an experienced subject matter expert who can prioritize features, collaborate with cross-functional teams and third-party vendors, and deliver high-quality data ingestion solutions that meet business needs.

Success in this role will be defined by the ability to streamline data ingestion processes, enhance data quality, and ensure timely data delivery to stakeholders. The right candidate will proactively identify and resolve ingestion challenges, contributing to improved data accessibility and usability across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Product Vision and Strategy: Define and communicate a clear product vision and strategy for data ingestion, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Develop a roadmap outlining key milestones and deliverables.

Backlog Management: Create, prioritize, and maintain a product backlog, ensuring user stories and requirements are actionable and aligned with business priorities. Regularly refine the backlog based on stakeholder feedback.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with cross company stakeholders, including data engineers, data scientists, business units, and third-party vendors, to gather requirements and translate them into actionable product features. Foster strong relationships to ensure support for ingestion initiatives.

Feature Development: Lead the development of new features and enhancements for data ingestion processes, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with the overall product strategy.

User Acceptance Testing: Collaborate with QA teams to define acceptance criteria and conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate that the product meets business requirements, incorporating feedback into the final product.

Performance Monitoring: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of data ingestion processes. Continuously monitor performance metrics to identify areas for improvement. 2

Documentation and Training: Develop and maintain product documentation, including user guides and training materials. Conduct training sessions to ensure users can effectively leverage data ingestion solutions.

Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement by regularly assessing the effectiveness of data ingestion processes and implementing best practices. Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation.

We will count on you to:

Define and communicate a clear product vision and strategy for data ingestion, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.Create, prioritize, and maintain a product backlog, ensuring user stories and requirements are actionable and aligned with business priorities.Engage with cross-company stakeholders, including data engineers, data scientists, and third-party vendors, to gather requirements and translate them into actionable product features.Lead the development of new features and enhancements for data ingestion processes, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with the overall product strategy.Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of data ingestion processes and continuously monitor performance metrics for improvement.

What you need to have:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus.Minimum of 7 years as a Product Owner or Product Manager, focusing on data ingestion or data engineering.Proven track record of delivering data ingestion products in an agile environment, managing complex projects effectively.Strong understanding of data ingestion methodologies, ETL processes, and data integration tools.Proficient in agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and experienced in cross-functional team collaboration.

What makes you stand out:

Experience with data extraction techniques for both structured and unstructured data, including familiarity with various data sources and formats.Knowledge of application design, architecture, business intelligence, data governance, and emerging technologies.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.Product Owner certification (e.g., Certified Scrum Product Owner) and SAFe Product Owner/Manager certification are preferred.
