**Job Description**
BAE Systems is hiring a Deputy General Manager to support our Ordnance (OSI) business in Radford, VA. This vital role will support the site GM, provide hands-on leadership, and help shape the vision for the 1200 employees in our Radford Army Ammunition Plant. This role will report to the Ordnance Radford Site General Manager and will be a key member of the Ordnance Leadership Team.
Responsibilities:
+ Drive the continued transformation of the site, ensuring production profitability.
+ Accountable for the oversight, development, and imbedding of strategic goals of our programs.
+ Manage, coordinate, plan, organize, control, integrate, and execute the production programs.
+ Support the transition from modernization to production operations.
+ Serve as an advocate for change, transformation, and modernization, including facility upgrades and capital investments.
+ Influence the organization by innovating and changing ineffective or unnecessary complex processes.
+ Create an environment where leaders and employees are empowered to bring forward new ideas and process concerns.
+ Lead cross-functional safety accountability and performance.
+ Recognize outstanding achievements and hold others accountable for performance.
+ Raise the performance and leadership bar with every hire and promotion.
+ Plan for the succession of organization and talent needs, ensuring processes are created to support future business growth and requirements.
+ Support successful management of customer relationships.

**Required Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ Bachelor s Degree and 12 years of experience or equivalent experience.
+ Experience in Defense (DoD)/DFARS environments (munitions, missiles manufacturing, etc.).
+ Experience in Federal Contract Management, including from a program management and contracting organizations perspective.
+ Experience in Production processes, controls, and risk management.
+ Experience in Operations/Site Management.
+ Experience in Program/Project Management, including financial and schedule management.
+ Experience in Subcontractor Management, ensuring key projects are achieved in support of program management, engineering, and operations.
+ Experience in People Management and Cross-functional Leadership.
+ Knowledge of Safety risk assessment, mitigation, management, and controls.
+ Knowledge of essential requirements of PSM and RMP.
+ Strong decision-making skills with the ability to analyze available data and use sound judgement.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to incorporate lessons learned and feedback loops to implement corrective and preventative actions and continuously improve.
+ Effective relationship management skills, including with external customers and internal executive management.
+ Strong communication and presentation skills.
**Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ Experience working in a DoD government owned, contractor operated or commercial environment.
+ Experience working in an environment where you are interfacing with the customer on a day to day basis.
+ Experience successfully creating a roadmap and strategic plan to a new initiative or turnaround.
+ Ability to balance and align the competing demands of business and customer.
+ Ability to influence stakeholders, articulate a vision, and gain buy-in.
+ Ability to professionally speak truth-to-power and convey difficult news to onsite and senior customers.
+ Ability to prioritize the long-run returns in customer communications.
+ Expert customer relationship building skills.
+ Expert level communications skills, especially with the customer.

**Pay Information**
Full-Time Salary Range: $169630 - $288370
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
