The integrated full-service solutions leverage a 97-year legacy in event management as well as new technologies to deliver moments that matter. **Summary** We are seeking an accomplished and strategic Director of Project Accounting to join our accounting team. This pivotal role involves playing a key part in the Sparks’ project costing, revenue recognition, and month-end closing process under the guidance of the VP, Controller. The Director will be a impactful leader, responsible for guiding the cost accounting and Project Finance team teams, delivering insightful data analysis on projects, monitoring the progress of projects, compliance to SOWs and budgets, investigating variances, and optimizing profits and cash flow. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field (strongly preferred) and possess 10 or more years of general accounting experience. The candidate should be a people leader, detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills and an aptitude for systems and automation. This position will support our Finance team. It is eligible to work a hybrid schedule, generally requiring work in-office 2-3 days per week. This position is based out of Philadelphia, PA. **Essential Duties & Responsibilities** + Train, supervise, develop, and motivate assigned staff to create a highly effective, cohesive team providing excellent results and customer service. + Ensure that processes and procedures are thoroughly documented, and controls are in place for areas of responsibility. + Use metrics and data analysis to identify and drive process improvements and operational excellence. + Proactively manage issues impacting the accuracy or timeliness of project costing. + Enhance team productivity by developing and implementing key performance indicators (KPIs). + Participate in the month-end closing process, including project closeouts for period end. + Ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls. + Provide value-added reporting and insights for leadership to support decision-making. + In collaboration with the VP Controller, oversee system implementations/upgrades for all systems as related to accounting. + Confer with receivables staff regarding unpaid billings. + Compile and provide necessary information for external auditors. + Foster close, supportive, and professional relationships with other Corporate Departments, including HR, Accounting and Finance, Account Management, Account Directors, and IT. + Undertake other duties as assigned to support the finance team. **Education & Experience** + Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting. + A minimum of 10 years of experience in the accounting field. + Proven ability to manage a team and create an atmosphere of trust and integrity. + Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong customer service focus. + Ability to communicate accounting and financial information effectively to various stakeholders. **What We Offer** Freeman provides benefits that aim to empower our people and their families to thrive mentally, physically, and financially.
