Additional information about the company can be found online at www.bwpipelines.com . We are currently looking for a Director, Project Development to work in our Houston, TX location. POSITION DESCRIPTION: The position of Director, Project Development will report to the VP Engineering and Construction and will be responsible for leading the cost estimating team as well as providing a day-to-day interface with the BWP and BLM Commercial teams. Sets an example of BWP’s Core Values for others to follow. Provides leadership to the estimating team; works with management to establish resource plans; establishes performance requirements and conducts annual merit and STI performance reviews; works with employees to develop career plans; provides strategic guidance to the team on prioritization of work, development of scopes of work, project schedules, cost estimates and risk reviews. Prepares and delivers presentations to BWP Senior Management. Provides strategic partnership through day-to-day collaboration with BWP and BLM Commercial teams surrounding development of new projects and origination of early market area studies involving system planning scoping and high-level costing. Proactively brings in cost estimating and engineering early to participate with Commercial and System Planning in the scope development effort with a goal to improve the quality and efficiency of scopes and estimates needed to meet today’s high volume business climate. Facilitates regular coordination meetings with BWP and BLM Commercial / System Planning / Estimating / Engineering to communicate status of the work, to provide a forum for look ahead estimate requests, to establish mutual acceptance by all parties of work priorities, and to drive progress to meet deadlines in an efficient and timely manner. Manages the ARBO contract and its analytics projects for the BWP organization. Develops and maintains project cost component metrics for natural gas pipelines and station facilities . REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE: + Minimum 10 years of experience in the natural gas pipeline industry, with familiarity in project development, project management and commercial operations. + Excellent communicator with strong team-based focus on collaboration and inclusion of others. + Familiarity in the current regulatory environment surrounding permits and FERC process. + Demonstrates high level of self-motivation, creativity, mature decision-making ability and strategic thought when working through complex situations. PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE: · Familiarity with System Planning modeling functions. + Previous experience with employee supervision.
