Your impact

Lead the project engineering strategy, ensuring alignment with Newmont strategic direction and project goals, technical excellence, and successful project execution through implementation of best practice engineering standards and work processes.

As part of our team you will Design sophisticated project engineering strategies and approaches based on the internal and external context of the project portfolio, its objectives, stakeholders, governance, market dynamicsMaximize value, manage cost and enhance schedule performance.Continually evaluate exposure to risk, both opportunities and threats, to maximize positive impacts and mitigate negative impacts on the project and its outcomes.Build governance and assurance processes to meet and exceed regulatory requirements.Provide leadership, advisory support and SME guidance to project engineering teams across different regions, including Australia, Africa, and the Americas.Ensure compliance with engineering practices and standards, including in relation to  Document Control and Engineering Assurance.Lead the development and implementation of engineering policies and procedures as they relate to studies and project execution.Monitor and evaluate performance of engineering service providers, making adjustments as necessary to ensure successful delivery of studies and projects.Provide technical guidance and support to project teams to resolve complex engineering challenges.Collaborate with the Group Head, Projects in each region to align project engineering initiatives with broader project management objectives.Manage the budget and resources for the Project Engineering department, ensuring efficient allocation and utilization.Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the project engineering function to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.Responsible for identifying relevant engineering risks, implementing mitigation measures, and continuously monitoring for risks.Assign and/or lead peer review teams, develop peer review summary reports and present peer review results to Newmont management.Engage with Business Readiness Leads across the portfolio in relation to development and implementation of business readiness standards, policies and procedures.Prerequisites for success in this role Tertiary Qualifications in Engineering, or other relevant disciplinesProfessional Registration in one or more jurisdictions relevant to Newmont projects is highly desired or the ability to obtain registration, if requestedAdvanced proficiency delivering complex engineering solutions in a projects environmentProven track record in senior engineering roles and demonstrated commitment to the successful implementation of large scale capital projects, including experience with greenfield and international projectsAbility to construct relationships between several systems, integrating and managing them. Ability to contemplate the full complexity and context of the development when designing and implementing strategies, systems, approaches and developing capability.Your work environment Qualified candidates in proximity to Newmont’s offices in Denver, Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane, or Vancouver are encouraged to apply.*It is anticipated that internal candidates will be selected for this position*
