POSITION OVERVIEW:
Establish, coordinate and oversee the HVACR Americas Quality Assurance Programs including policies, objectives, plans, organizations, procedures, quality audits, and maintaining/reporting overarching Quality K.P.I.s. Ensure the worldwide quality of our products and services meet the requirements, specifications and quality standards established by the customer, company, and applicable governmental and industry agencies.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALITY SPECIFIC DUTIES:
Develop and lead all aspects of quality policies, plans, programs, standards and techniques necessary to carry out the objectives of the HVACR business units and maintain a sound organizational structure, staffed with qualified quality personnel, for the performance of all quality assurance activities, establishment of measurement standards for the performance of the quality assurance functions, and provide for personnel counseling, instruction or training as required.
Develop and maintain the methods, processes and systems, for measuring the quality health of our products, across different business units, ensuring objectives and standards are being met, and provide reports to business unit and plant management leaders with the results and any recommended any corrective action.
Interface with marketing, manufacturing, product planning and engineering to establish quality requirements on individual products and services on the basis of customer needs, the function of the product, and its reliability, salability, and value; and ensure quality considerations are properly addressed as early as possible during the new product development phases and gates.
Be responsible for and guide the plant quality engineering, quality inspection and test functions to ensure proposed and existing products and processes are being audited and reviewed to avoid or eliminate potential quality issues.
Develop recommendations for product improvements to ensure uniformity and reliability and improve quality characteristics, to reduce field failures and customer complaints, by ensuring products conform to the required performance and reliability standards prior to shipment.
Lead and manage continuous improvement efforts of all North American plant Quality Product Assessment Labs to improve processes and efficiencies.
Develop systems for sharing and replicating best quality practices across all production locations.
Drive improvements within our New Product Development process to assure on-time launch of new products which meet or exceed customer quality expectations.
Establish annual Improvement targets for critical quality K.P.I.s by establishing focused goals and objectives annually that are aligned to the businesses Annual Operating Plan
Identify appropriate quality metrics and drive focused improvement on next phase of quality improvement throughout North America.
Provide Quality leadership across all business groups and functions.
Develop and build technical and leadership skills within the quality function.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s of Science Degree, preferably in Engineering
10 years of professional level experience in product engineering, operations and/or quality assurance with prior management responsibility
Knowledge of other departments with which the quality department interfaces regularly, i.e., Research and Development, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Operations
Have a fundamental understanding of all engineering disciplines plus a working knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering and statistical analysis
Must have the ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner both orally and written
Exceptional interpersonal and customer interactions are required
Experience working internationally with overseas plants and customers
Ability to travel internationally
PREFERRED EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
In-depth knowledge of and ability to lead the organization in the following areas:
Advanced statistical analysis & experiment design
Scientific, methodical, root cause analysis and problem-solving tools and techniques
Cross-functional team facilitation and project execution

About Our Location
Our newly renovated Sidney campus has 1M square feet of manufacturing floor with an additional 120k square feet of leading-edge lab facilities. This location is the headquarters for our HVACR Americas business unit. Through our many years of compressor expertise, our products help bring comfort and convenience to refrigeration, commercial, industrial, and residential spaces. Approximately 1600 employees work in Sidney, who all support a multitude of business functions.
