Director Quality Control

What will you be doing?

​​​This position will be responsible for all Quality Control activities at the Memphis site. The successful candidate will be an integral member of the site’s Quality management team and will possess outstanding Quality operational and system experience/skills. In this role, the Quality Control Director will act strategically to support and sustain Smith & Nephew’s question system, collaborate with manufacturing leaders to improve efficiency, lead quality improvement projects and ensure Good Manufacturing & Documentation Practices (GMP and GDP) in manufacturing operations. This role will serve as a delegate to the local Management Representative for the Quality System and Person Responsible for Regulatory​​ 

​​​Develops strategy within Quality Control to best support Operations 

​Leads Quality Control Managers and other technical personnel within a manufacturing environment. 

​Ensures processes and procedures are followed in all aspects of Manufacturing and Quality Systems. 

​Leads projects to enhance productivity and efficiency. 

​Assures that the quality system is implemented such that certifications and registrations will be maintained; assure that proper communication with senior management is maintained; coordinate data collection for periodic Management Reviews.​​ 

What will you need to be successful?

5-7 years supervisory experience required

Experience developing and using collaborative relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals

Using appropriate interpersonal styles and techniques to gain acceptance of ideas or plans

Modifying one’s own behavior to accommodate tasks, situations, and individuals involved

Keeping the organization's vision and values at the forefront of decision making

Setting high standards of performance for self and others

Assuming responsibility and accountability for effectively completing assignments or tasks

Generating innovative solutions in work situations

Trying different and novel ways to  take care of work problems and opportunities

Interacting with others in a way that gives them confidence in one's intentions and  those of the organization​ 

Bachelor/Associates degree or equivalent work experience preferred
