The Director of Quality will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of quality standards and processes, ensuring that our products meet customer expectations and regulatory requirements. The Director of Quality will report into the Vice President of Segment Operations and will lead the global HES Quality team, with locations in the United States, Puerto Rico, and Mexico and dotted-line responsibilities in Canada and the United Kingdom. The Director of Quality must be based in one of four locations: Shelton, CT; Manchester, NH; Fenton, MO; or Hamilton, OH. A Day In The Life • Develop and implement a comprehensive quality management system that aligns with the company’s strategic goals and complies with international quality standards. • Lead and manage the quality teams across various manufacturing sites, ensuring effective communication and coordination. • Successfully manage direct and indirect teams in a matrixed environment. • Recruit, develop, lead, and manage a team of quality professionals, fostering professional growth and development. • Collaborate with the manufacturing, engineering, and product development departments to integrate quality control into all facets of the production process. • Drive effective cross-functional team participation to proactively predict client needs, solve problems and build teams. • Design and oversee the execution of rigorous testing procedures and quality control measures to minimize defects and maximize product reliability. • Analyze production data, customer feedback, and quality metrics to identify trends, root causes of issues, and areas for improvement. • Prepare and manage the budget for the quality department, ensuring optimal allocation of resources. • Conduct regular quality audits and prepare detailed reports for senior management, highlighting performance metrics, achievements, and areas needing attention. • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in quality management; implement these insights to continuously improve our processes. • Serve as the primary point of contact for all external quality audits, regulatory compliance issues, and customer quality assurance inquiries. • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing within the quality team and across the company. What will help you thrive in this role? • Bachelor’s degree in technical fields such as engineering, Quality Management, or a related field; master’s degree preferred. • At least 15 years of experience in quality management within a manufacturing environment, with a minimum of 6 years in a senior leadership role. • Strong understanding of ISO 9001 and other relevant quality standards and regulations. • DMAIC/Six Sigma and/or ASQ Certification (CQE/CQM) a plus. • Experience with Lean methodologies may be useful. • SAP experience required. • Travel requirements up to 50%. • Proven track record of leading quality improvements that result in cost savings and increased customer satisfaction. • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. • Strong leadership and team management abilities, capable of motivating and guiding teams across multiple sites. • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders. #LI-EC1 Hubbell Incorporated Hubbell creates critical infrastructure solutions that power our customers, communities, people and the planet.
