Director-Relationship Manager Asset-Based Lending Group
Job Purpose & Scope Responsible for overseeing clients within the Asset-Based Lending Group (ABLG) loan portfolio and underwriting of new ABLG transactions. May also be responsible for directly managing staff with equivalent or less senior titles within the ABLG team. Essential Job Functions Manages and serves as primary contact for 8-10 assigned ABLG borrower relationships with a high degree of complexity and consistently promote positive relationships and interactions for all assigned borrowers. Ensures thorough servicing of ABLG loan portfolio in conjunction other Relationship Managers and ABLG Portfolio Manager in compliance with the Bank’s loan policy including, but not limited to, managing, directing, and reviewing execution of a number of functions, including: On-boards new ABLG loans; Prepares loan modification and/or amendment requests when required; Processes recurring loan advances; Monitors borrower compliance with loan documents, collateral reporting and performance requirements, and financial performance requirements; Monitors borrower/guarantor financial conditions and compliance with loan and guaranty covenants; Oversees debt service payment calculation, billing, and collection; Oversees loan pay-off and release of collateral; Assists with the resolution of loan administration issues, including follow up on exception items, post-closing items, and loan billing; and Assists with management of troubled loans. Oversees underwriting of new ABLG transaction by team, including but not limited to: Analyzes financial and collateral performance; Prepares new credit request memos; Presents credit requests to senior management and/or Bank’s loan committee for approval; Conducts loan and collateral legal negotiations required; and Coordinates legal documentation execution required between the Bank, Bank’s counsel; and the borrowers. Monitors risk within the ABLG loan portfolio to ensure potential challenges are identified on a timely basis and communicated internally and externally for timely resolution and proper risk mitigation. May directly manage other ABLG relationship management team members; absent direct management, serves as a mentor and trainer for less experienced staff. Completes special projects assigned by ABLG senior management as required. Regularly exercises discretion and judgment in the performance of essential job functions. Maintains good punctuality and attendance to work. Follows Bank policy, procedures, and guidelines. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of and experience in asset-based lending, transactions, and documentation. Knowledge of financial concepts to analyze complex industry, economic, and financial data and ability to interpret results and present findings. Ability to analyze and monitor performance of collateral. Ability to demonstrate effective analytical, logistical, organizational, and critical thinking skills. Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences and articulate the strengths, weaknesses, and issues related to a transaction, in both written and oral presentations. Ability to multi-task and work well with exacting deadlines. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to travel for business purposes. Skill in using computer, Microsoft Windows, and Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), and Solifi/Stucky. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, or job-related field, or commensurate work experience, required. 10+ years of experience as a commercial lender or banker (preferably with regional or national banks), required. 3+ years of management experience, preferred. Previous experience in relationship management and/or underwriting within asset-based lending, corporate and commercial banking, leveraged and/or structed finance, private equity, turnaround consulting, or mergers and acquisition consulting industries, preferred.
