As Director/Sr. Director for Technology Development, Taiwan, you will be responsible for leading Micron’s DRAM New Product Introduction and early module integration development in a high-volume manufacturing environment. In this role, you will lead an organization consisting of Process Development, Process Integration and CMOS/access device engineering teams to qualify Micron’s next generation DRAM Technology into high volume manufacturing and sustain industry leadership

As leader of the overall Technology Development, Taiwan, organization, you will be responsible for hiring and developing the organization to build a “Technology Development Mindset”. You will collaborate closely with DRAM Development site leaders to align on development strategies, deliverables and provide on-site support to drive various technology development projects. In this role, you will also partner closely with Micron’s Manufacturing and Central teams to apply best in class methods to develop for manufacturability. During Technology Transfer phase, you will also supervise the manufacturing transfer team from early engagement training through the volume manufacturing enablement milestone.

Responsibilities:

· Hire process development and process integration leaders and engineers

· Actively manage training, coaching & performance appraisals for managers & engineers in the team

· Align with the Technology Development teams in the US and Japan, and manufacturing teams from various sites to drive the direction for technology development support and generate transfer plans, as well as collaborate closely with TDT and manufacturing leaders to align on the evaluation and execution plans.

· Provide feasibility studies for development projects and support plans

· Propose goals and map out key metrics and glide paths to enable achievement of technology milestones

· Own and set direction to drive key module innovations and cost reduction efforts as part of the Model of Record

· Develop the new technology node until mature manufacturing capability, driving critical program metrics

· Establish and prioritize projects/processes that support R&D objectives and enhance the organization’s performance

· Leverage across node learning to develop for manufacturability

· Work with manufacturing fabs and central teams to facilitate the successful transfer of new technology

· Work effectively with other department leaders to drive company strategy and initiatives

· Understand the impact and implications of R&D strategy to the overall company strategy and ensure alignment and strong execution

· Maintain area procedures and training required to ensure legal compliance and conformance to a management system

· Provide regular reporting including high level summaries and presentations for executive role up and communication to key stake holders

· Lead global cross-functional taskforce teams

· Champion Technology Development initiatives

Requirements:

· Masters/PhD degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical engineering, Device Physics or in related engineering fields with over 15 years of experience in semiconductor industry with a mix of R&D, transfer and manufacturing is preferred

· Strong leadership skills with experience in leading Process Integration (including Device) and Process Engineering teams is preferred

· Program Management experience including timeline and resource and budget planning, and metrics definition and tracking

· Deep knowledge of technology development and transfer methodology including experience with transferring technology nodes

· Must possess a thorough knowledge of DRAM and good understanding of CMOS and access device characteristics

· Good understanding of unit process engineering, including inline measurements, defect inspection and characterization methods

· Track record of accelerating technology deliverables, unit process development, challenging vendors, improve time-to-market by changing processes and challenging teams

· Cross-functional capability to work closely with fab operations, Data Science, TDAM (TD Advanced Modeling), PI, Procurement, vendors, and manufacturing to optimize process solutions

· Deep understanding of Process capability, C-spec, Structural metrics, MOR business process, CoT, Cost reduction, equipment strategy

· Good communication skills

· Build team development plans, with strong focus on technical and leadership succession plans

· Demonstrated record of executing against goals with a true senior leader mindset

· Effective management of large expense and capex budget

· Flexible with international travel, including short or long-term assignments as needed
