Director - Supply Chain for Acute Care Hospitals

Responsible for staffing for distribution of all supplies (except pharmaceuticals and food) and laundry for the Acute Care Hospitals; establishing and maintaining adequate inventory control and consulting internally on such practices in other inventory holding departments; and assuring an adequate and timely flow of supplies to all user departments. The Director is expected to identify and plan for operational improvements so as to keep the department operating at optimal efficiency and considering quality, service and cost
Directs the consistent, timely and sufficient flow of supplies to meet user department needs across the Health System.

Establishes and directs a system of inventory management and control for in house inventory managed by the respective site materials management areas. This includes coordinating the approved auditing cycle count process.

Establishes and directs performance to meet departmental policy and procedures to assure adequate daily operational performance. Coordinates as needed with other directors and departments to establish and maintain joint processes.

Establishes and manages operational expense within budget, contributes to savings goals, ensures processes are in place to meet or exceed Operational Productivity Standards.

Plans for and directs the use of resources necessary for accomplishment of these functions, including personnel and non-personnel resources. Hires, supervises, develops, evaluates performance, coaches, disciplines and terminates when needed staff and management and supervisory staff consistent with Cone Health Human Resources policies.

Provides inhouse consulting to other inventory-managing departments on best practices in inventory management and measurement.

EDUCATION:Required: Bachelors in business administration or other related field required.
Preferred: Masters
EXPERIENCE:Required: Minimum 10 years in Healthcare Materials Management or other related Supply Chain Director/Manager experience
