Description: Job Summary:
Position exists so that Medical Center Communications personnel are professionally managed and coordinated; Medical Center Communications Systems are designed, implemented and maintained in order to facilitate the effective and efficient delivery of care and service to the Health Plan member; and Medical Center Managers and Physicians receive consultation on all telecommunications equipment and issues from design and planning through selection and implementation.
Essential Responsibilities:
Manage the telecommunications department.
Provide for communication staff coverage 7 days per week, 24 hours per day.
Develop, implement and monitor the policies and procedures of the department.
Manage and oversee Medical Center telecommunications systems and processes to include voice mail and pager systems.
Enhance patient care by ensuring proper selection, installation and maintenance of state of the art telecommunications equipment, systems and processes throughout the Medical Center Service Area.
Develop operating, capital remodel and ratemaking budgets in which resources are determined based on functional needs of providing services to Medical Center customers.
Responsible for maintaining cost effective operations within budgetary allocation.
Ensure minimal disruptions and maximum service throughout the implementation of new systems or products by actively managing or co-managing all communications projects.
Liaison with Regional and External Telecommunication Specialists and SA constructions and Facilities personnel.
Serve on Regional and Medical Center telecommunication functional teams and committees.
Determine standards, goals, analysis, measurements needed to implement and monitor performance and provide improvement where needed.
Develop processes for ensuring quality of service and technical and service competency of staff.
Ensure regulatory and organizational requirements are met. Basic Qualifications:

Education
Bachelors Degree or four (4) years of experience managing medical center communications systems or other directly related experience required.
High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
License, Certification, Registration

Additional Requirements:
Knowledge of telecommunications equipment and systems.
Must possess ability to effectively manage Medical Center personnel.
Must possess skills and experience in managing large scale project implementations.
Demonstrated communication skills.
Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters Degree preferred.
