Summary

CHS is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Transportation, Modal Sourcing to join our team. In this critical leadership position, you will be responsible for developing and executing the sourcing strategy for freight, ensuring that CHS remains competitive and aligned with market trends. You will lead a team focused on sourcing and managing enterprise truck and container transportation, while also establishing and streamlining a new function to integrate these efforts.

Responsibilities Lead a team responsible for sourcing and managing enterprise truck and container transportation.Establish and streamline a new function at CHS that integrates truck and container sourcing efforts.Oversee sourcing strategies and carrier relationship management for all truck and container transportation needs.Develop and implement pricing strategies to ensure competitive and market-aligned freight bids.Drive long-term fleet deployment strategy, optimizing CHS truck utilization by reallocating fleet between regions with high-cost and low-cost third-party freight, maximizing enterprise opportunities.Lead container carrier relationship management, continuously identifying new capacity opportunities to support CHS’s logistics needs.Minimum Qualifications (required) High School diploma or GED7+ years of experience in Supply Chain and Procurement and/or Transportation and LogisticsPrior leadership experience with progressively advancing level of leadership responsibilitiesAdditional Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferred in Business, Systems Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, or related fieldExperience working with hopper or tanker trucks in a commodity environment Pre-employment screening is based on the job requirements and industry guidelines and may or may not be required for the position. CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications.
