Purpose: Reporting to the VP Valuation, this position is responsible for performing and guiding actuarial modeling and analysis with respect to financial reporting. Accountabilities: + Lead the quarterly US GAAP financial close for business reported out of Bermuda + Lead analysis and explanation of results + Develop a framework to assess international business across multiple currencies + Build, maintain, and document detailed actuarial models + Develop, document, execute, and review modeling and process controls + Interface with other Actuarial functions and provide new business support as required + Maintain and document actuarial assumptions and standards + Analyze and critique client company assumptions and methodologies + Interface with internal and external auditors to answer inquiries and facilitate the audit process + Modernize and improve the financial reporting process to maximize accuracy and efficiency + Validate and test new reporting models and results + Lead team of Actuarial Students providing guidance, coaching, and performance management Qualifications and Experience: + Bachelor’s degree in mathematics or any quantitative field + Associate of the Society of Actuaries (or equivalent organization) required; Fellow of Society of Actuaries preferred + 7+ years’ technical experience with 5+ years’ experience working in the life insurance industry, preferably in annuities within a U.S. GAAP framework + Proficiency in MS Office suite and any programming language + Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize and manage several projects + Demonstrated desire to take initiative and run with projects + Comfortable working in a flat structured organization and interacting with senior management + Ability to view “big picture”, understand broad corporate impacts, and focus on company objectives + Excellent oral and written English language skills Drive.
