This position will lead the ongoing facilitation of system wide product value analysis processes and structures, ensuring alignment with Network objectives and strategic goals. The Value Analysis Program Director will drive efforts to standardize products and processes, effectively manage backorder situations and evaluate new products with a primary focus on optimizing patient care, safety and outcomes. By overseeing the product review, evaluation, selection and implementation process, this role ensures that decisions are driven by quality, clinical effectiveness and alignment with evidence-based practices, all while supporting clinical integration and enhancing supply chain performance.
Exceptional Skills and Qualifications
+ 4 year / Bachelor's Degree in healthcare related field. (Required)
+ Bachelor’s in Nursing and/or Master's Degree: MS or MBA (Preferred)
+ Certifications/Licensures: (Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid license to practice in the state of Indiana as listed in the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) )
+ 8+ years: Eight (8) years’ experience in a clinical setting, management experience and/or Experience with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint (Required)
+ Negotiation skills and experience with products and supply chain techniques (Preferred)
+ Responsible for working collaboratively across the Network to manage the Value Analysis program. Will coordinate new product or service introductions, trials, and overall change initiatives to ensure the preservation or improvement of the quality of patient care while reducing or maintaining costs and risks related to the procurement and the use of products and services across all facilities within the Community Health Network.
+ Provide organization, structure, and coordination to the Value Analysis process and Teams. Serve as a liaison between clinicians, vendors, and organizational leadership ensuring proposed ideas and potential product choices are validated and supported by clinical communities across the Network. Provide resources and input to coordinate and implement decisions across the Network while engaging clinical and operational leadership to drive best practices, streamline utilization, and produce overall value.
+ Responsible for driving Network-wide product changes and serve as an internal advocate of the Network’s product standardization and utilization initiatives. Responsible for working through and effectively managing traditional barriers to improvement, ensuring requisite analytics are informing the Value Analysis process, identifying issues, formulating alternative solutions, understanding cost models, and determining clinical acceptability.
+ Have frequent and direct contact with the Vice President of Supply Chain. Work collaboratively and as a clinical liaison with physicians, clinical and non-clinical teams, administration, vendors, and other individuals internal and external to the Network to maximize patient care, patient and employee safety and ensure cost-effective utilization of financial resources and the sharing of opportunities.
+ Coordinate with other functions (Care Delivery, Supply Chain, and Finance) to actively participate in the sourcing decisions impacting patient care to ensure clinical acceptance. Ensure sourcing decisions are implemented following a coordinated process across Supply Chain, Sourcing, and Clinical departments.
+ Establishes a calendar, agendas, and a process for the continual identification and prioritization of cost containment, patient and employee safety, patient satisfaction opportunities.
+ Lead monthly Value Analysis Team meetings, assign tasks, and publish meeting minutes.
+ Develop monitoring tools to identify opportunities to improve compliance through data and direct communications with Value Analysis Team Leads.
+ Collaborate with and support Team Leads to ensure outcomes are aligned with the Value Analysis goals and review outcomes/practices across the Network. Select, train, direct Value Analysis Team Lead roles. Manage a process for local facilities to refute decisions based on clinical evidence that adheres to the mission and goals of the Value Analysis program.
+ Lead and manage multi-disciplinary Value Analysis Teams responsible for product introductions, value analysis, and utilization review consistent with the Network’s policies and procedures. Facilitate timely decisions on products, services, and projects with regions, and vendors to maximize education, efficiency, and effectiveness.
+ Develop strategies and identifies process improvements that are focused on substantial supply cost reduction, standardization, and utilization, while maintaining or enhancing quality. Oversee opportunities and develops qualitative and quantitative analyses and methodologies for product utilization and cost reduction efforts focused on cost containment, utilization, waste reduction, and overall cost per service. Review and assess applicable financial, clinical, operational data as well as evidence-based literature to assist teams in evaluating new supplies and technology against benchmarked best practices and data driven analysis.
+ Support new product requestors in preparation of information/presentations and facilitates meetings between staff, physicians, and other appropriate parties in support of projects.
