Patients Medical Center (PMC) provides inpatient and outpatient medical and surgical services to residents of Pasadena, Deer Park, La Porte, Baytown, and Clear Lake. The facility includes 53 medical/surgical beds, eight ICU beds and three endoscopy rooms, and offers a range of primary and specialized services—wound care, general surgery, gastroenterology, occupational health, heart and vascular, women’s services, diagnostic imaging, outpatient rehab services, and sleep disorders.
The Director of Wound Care will be responsible for assisting with decision making, program planning, and implementation of patient care delivery systems which promotes safety and well being of all patients within the system. The individual will need to complete position responsibilities by following established guidelines and protocols within the appropriate time frame, and must be flexible with his/her work schedule. This position involves discretion and independent action within prescribed limits.

Develop comprehensive safety rules for all modalities within the department, in coordination with hospital policy.
Develop protocols for technical competence in equipment operation and maintenance.
Assures means for appropriate staffing ratios of all modalities within critical care services.
Ascertain that clinical protocols within critical care services are coordinated, personnel properly trained, adequate equipment available, records kept properly, and adequate data storage/retrieval maintained.
Provides means for personnel development to all critical care staff to include: performance appraisals, salary adjustments, reclassifications, continuing education, counseling, discipline, and overall direction of critical care technical and support staff.
Monitors department staffing to ensure competent and compassionate patient care in coordination with appropriate performance and fair labor standards.
Collects and reports to administration critical care services statistics to include: financial, staff utilization, and additional department efficiencies.
Develops new programs to continuously improve patient care and efficient utilization of resources for inpatient and outpatient wound care services.
Establishes and maintains effective strategic relationships with customers, employees, and referring staff.
Coordinates continuity and quality of patient care standards with all hospital departments.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (BSN) in related discipline required; Masters strongly preferred
Minimum of 7 years’ experience in the discipline and 5 years leadership experience
Maintains education and development appropriate for position.
Required License and Certification:
Must be licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in State of Texas.
Must be WOCN, BLS, ACLS and PALS certified.
