Directorate Communications Lead for Cloud Computing
**Overview** PNNL’s Communications organization comprises over 100 talented communications professionals committed to elevating PNNL’s reputation, inspiring action, and engaging audiences by transforming the Lab’s science into influential communications and compelling stories. **Responsibilities** As a key member of PNNL's Communications team, this role combines strategic relationship building with hands-on communications expertise. The position serves as both a trusted advisor and execution-focused communications professional supporting the Computing and Information Technology’s (CIT) Cloud Computing and digital transformation initiatives. CIT leads PNNL's digital transformation through the delivery of innovative cloud computing solutions, cybersecurity services, and enterprise technology platforms. Working at the intersection of Communications and CIT, this role translates complex technical initiatives into clear, compelling narratives that drive adoption and engagement across the Laboratory and elevates the Lab’s reputation in computing. Relationship Management + Serve as the primary communications liaison between CIT and Internal Communications, managing relationships and coordinating communications needs. + Build and maintain strong working relationships with technical stakeholders to understand their business priorities, challenges, and communications requirements. + Proactively identify communications opportunities around technology initiatives. + Align Cloud Computing communications efforts with Lab-Wide narratives and messaging frameworks. Communications Planning & Strategy + Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive communication campaigns that articulate branding, objectives, benefits, and impacts of initiatives, including cloud efforts. + Lead communications for digital transformation and cloud computing initiatives, ensuring clear, consistent, and impactful messages. + Coordinate with the broader Internal Communications team to support Lab-wide employee communications efforts. + Create engagement strategies that drive technology adoption and change management. + Design targeted communication approaches for different stakeholder groups. Content Development & Creation + Write and edit clear, compelling content including emails, newsletters, videos, presentations, and other relevant collateral that translates complex technical concepts into accessible communications. + Develop multi-channel content including technology updates, implementation guides, training materials, and adoption resources. + Create engaging visual content working with graphic designers and digital media specialists. + Maintain consistent voice and messaging across all communications materials. + Build and manage a content calendar. + Ensure all content meets PNNL brand standards and editorial guidelines.
