From business intelligence and solutions for critical transportation infrastructure to planning and operating a safe, efficient, and reliable multimodal transportation system, the team connects people and markets across Minnesota. As the Disaster Recovery (DR) Coordinator, you will assume a lead technical role within the MnDOT Application Security Program to provide application security and disaster recovery services for commercial-of-the-shelf (COTS), custom-built client-server and server applications/software used by MnDOT. This role requires working closely with DOT and MNIT Enterprise teams, along with MnDOT application stewards, MnDOT key experts, and other stakeholders. This position coordinates the creation, update, and testing of disaster recovery plans that guide restoration of applications in event of a disaster. This position also plays a lead role in implementing day to day and long-range strategic direction, with guidance from leadership. A deep understanding of both Disaster Recovery and internal Business/Technical priorities is required. This position will also collaborate with our MnDOT partners on application continuity and recoverability activities that are part of MnDOT greater Continuity of Operations (COOP) efforts. To that end, it is expected that the employee will lead both formal and informal discussions with select MnDOT Operations team members and follow through to resolve gaps where identified. The DR Coordinator Lead assists with the administration and implementation of policies and procedures related to application performance and high availability. Experience must include: + Experience developing reports and providing status updates. + Strong organizational and project management skills. + Ability to effectively work with multiple IT services (apps, data, infra, service desk) and serve as a technical liaison between business, IT and third party vendors/contractors + Experience supporting IT disaster recovery planning, with demonstrated skill developing and/or testing disaster recovery plans. + Strong skills in time management (independent and team), including the ability to understand problems before delivering a solution in a complex environment. + Ability to deliver effective verbal or written messages that facilitate a mutual understanding on both parties. + Customer service skills that include active listening, empathy, and problem-solving.
