Disease State Lead

Job Summary

As a Disease State Specialist, you will serve as a team leader for Patient Care Advocates, taking on an expanded role in the growth and profitability of the disease state they have been assigned to manage. Key areas of responsibility include working in collaboration with Account Managers to expand and improve sales, profit margin, and value-add services by developing service plans and meeting with drug manufacturer representatives and referral sources.

Experience Required: 3 to 5 yearsEducation Desired: High school diploma or equivalent plus 18 months to 3 years of additional trainingCertification Desired: Registration as a Pharmacy Technician or Trainee, as required by the state. Lifting Requirement: Up to 10 poundsTravel Required: Regional - Daily, Less than 10%

Job Responsibilities

Collaborate with the Account Manager to target new sales leads and implement changes to meet the specific needs of clients.Attend in-person meetings with potential and existing referral sources.Manage and oversee the day-to-day duties and responsibilities of a team of Patient Care Advocates and other staff, setting the service standards and communication methods for prescribers and patients.Analyze dispensing and sales reports for the assigned disease states and take actions to increase referrals from specific providers and work with the pharmacist to coordinate product changes for maximum profitability.Obtain and maintain a thorough knowledge and understanding of the disease state including the disease itself, products, prescribers, financial assistance options, insurance requirements and use this knowledge to advance our company's interests in meetings with manufacturers, vendors, and clients.Perform all duties of Patient Care Advocates and other staff as called for when not involved in management duties.Display excellent patient care by respecting, engaging and enthusiastically meeting or exceeding all patient needs including counseling and problem-solving.Direct patients and PCAs when necessary to either pharmacist or provider.Demonstrate adherence to all company, state and federal policies, laws and regulations through example and coaching.Provide an optimal team and patient experience by proper scheduling and delegation of work assignments and efficient use of supplies and equipment.Maintain a neat and sterile work environment to ensure all company, local, state and federal government requirements are met.Keep abreast of new developments, maintain professional competency and advocate changes in pharmacy profession to improve patient care and company performance.
