Dishwasher / Banquet Steward
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Dishwasher/Banquet Steward at our Hyatt Centric located in Arlington Virginia. Come grow with us! Compensation: Starting at $16.50, Full-Time Who you will be working for:

We are looking for a reliable and friendly Dishwasher/Banquet Steward team member to provide cleaning and banquet services for  the Hyatt Centric-Arlington. Your duties will include ensuring that cleanliness meets the Hyatt standard and Banquet needs are met. You should also be able to resolve issue. To be successful as a Dishwasher/Banquet Steward you must be honest, a team player, and maintain knowledge of policies, procedures, and standards.

What you will be doing:

BASIC FUNCTION:

The Dishwasher/Steward will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness standards of all dishes and kitchen items and equipment. Maintain order of stored items. In addition, set up and tear down of banquet spaces. Including deep cleaning projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 75%

Ensure all dishes and equipment are cleaned at the beginning and end of shift

Wash all glassware dishes, silver, pots and pans and other kitchen items and equipment

Ensure that kitchen items and equipment are stored neatly.

All food stains, smoke stain, etc. must be removed before storage takes place.

Floor and trashcans must stay clean.

Keep the workspace clear.

All counters must be cleaned at the end of the shift.

Meet all cleaning and sanitation requirements.

Provide assistance to prep cook and other kitchen staff as needed, especially during peak times

Perform opening, closing and side work

Report any sanitation or Janitorial issues to appropriate party

Set up – break down – clean the cafeteria

Ensure dish machine is sanitized at least 3 times daily

Cheek for proper dis machine temperature daily – report any issues

Complete all required chemical handling training and use of PPE

Run Kitchen hood filters through dish machine periodically

Perform deep cleaning projects as per task list.

SECONDAY FUNCTION: 25%

Set up and/or break down of event rooms or private dining spaces

Deliver necessary equipment to the meeting spaces

Read and follow the event order and or instructions on the event order

Report to Food and Beverage Manager/Supervisor of any concerns about the event or set up

Assist with any deep cleaning and/or organizing of event equipment.

Deliver food and other items for event

Deep clean and organize banquet equipment and storage areas as needed

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

Assist with assigned task by supervisor or manager.

Assist cooks in anything that may need to be cleaned up.

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent.

Customer service experience

Experience in hospitality and banquet kitchen and events preferred

Experience working with chemicals.

Organizational skills.

Must be able to stand for long periods of time

Must be able to carry up to 50lbs

Flexible schedule

Knowledge of event order and ability to follow the diagram/instructions

Strong communication skills
