About the Role & Program:
The Disney Accelerator is designed to accelerate business development opportunities with growth-stage startups from around the world. Up to 10 startups will be selected for a four-month program that will immerse them in The Walt Disney Company. The program begins in the summer and concludes with a Demo Day in the fall. The LA-based program is open to growth stage venture-backed tech startups with a vision for making an impact on the future of media and entertainment. The Disney Accelerator provides participating companies with investment capital and access to top Disney business units and their executives in an effort to foster commercial relationships. Since the Disney Accelerator started in 2014, companies from across the US, Europe and Asia have participated in building the future of media and entertainment with technologies as diverse as robotics, AI, wearables, messaging and AR/VR. They include such companies as Epic Games, Kahoot! And BYJUs.
The approximate dates of this internship are June - November 2025. Please note, this role is a mix of full time (summer) and part time (school year) work.
What You Will Do:
Support the Disney Accelerator operation with aspects of operating the program both logistically and functionally (e.g., scheduling, set up, hosting)Participate in tech community outreachAssist with key event operations (e.g., Demo Day, open house, speaker events)Prepare program materials, including a variety of presentation materials for the Innovation teamEvaluate industry research on technologies and markets with the potential to impact and/or disrupt the future of media and entertainmentWork closely with participating startups across various strategic and tactical areas, as needed (e.g., business planning, market mapping, presentation drafting, financial modeling, market sizing, revenue and user forecasting, product road mapping, user research)Required Qualifications & Skills:
Self-starter with ability to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environmentHighly organized person with strong communication and collaboration skillsAbility to remain professional while working around executives of all levelsComfort wearing multiple hats in a very flat organizationEager to master new software and skills for the task at handProficient in Zoom, Microsoft Office (i.e., Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), Google Workspace, and KeynotePreferred Qualifications & Skills:
Passion for startups, venture investing and technologyAbility to prepare presentation materialsExperience working with Adobe Photoshop, Premiere, Final Cut Pro, or similarSkills in developing data analysis/financial modelsPrevious experience working large events
