The dispatcher works directly with passengers and carriers and ensures that all runs are on time on the day of service. Responsibilities Oversee road service by assigned carriers by tracking trip performance measures, i.e., route start time, on-time performance, incidents, etc.Provide customer support by responding to questions and concerns regarding customer trips, including no-shows, cancellations, and missed tripsManage emergency situations for vehicle operators, and act as liaison between the carrier and emergency servicesManage daily service by reviewing route performance and proactively responding to situations that impact customer service and on-time performanceSupervise staff on weekends and eveningsManage Department reports and other communication toolsProvide support assistance to the Dispatch Supervisor, including training employeesMake recommendations on improving the Dispatch DepartmentManage escalated calls Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent required; technical degree preferredCustomer service orientationExcellent verbal and interpersonal skillsProblem-solving and analytical abilitiesSupervisor experience strongly desiredThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
