The pay for this position is $18/hour, and we provide an attractive benefits package. Essential Job Functions: Staff Development: Support the Dispatch Supervisors by fostering a positive working environment. Ensure that best practices in customer service and leadership are upheld. Communication and Conflict Resolution: Maintain regular communication with the Dispatchers and Dispatch Supervisors to ensure customer issues and requests are addressed promptly and acceptably. Scheduling Assistance: Assist Dispatchers and Dispatch Supervisors in monitoring and addressing same day schedule adherence by working directly with customers via phone, chat and text to provide accurate ride information; identify and reschedule passengers who are a good fit for alternative transportation services. Ensure that passenger trips are correctly recorded and updated in Trapeze and communicated to the alternative vendors. Backup Support: Provide backup support for dispatch duties as needed without compromising primary administrative responsibilities. Issue Escalation and Reporting: Proactively identify and escalate issues outside normal operating parameters to the Dispatch Supervisors, ensuring timely resolution and minimizing impact on service quality. Cross-departmental support: Assist other departments as needed, demonstrating flexibility and a collaborative spirit to ensure overall organizational success. Other Duties as Assigned Qualifications: Experience in dispatch and/or reservations. Strong administrative, organizational, conflict resolution, and communication skills. Ability to work closely with, and support both the Dispatch Supervisors and the Dispatchers in day-to-day operations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with paratransit scheduling software. Knowledge of the service area, traffic patterns, and paratransit operations. Essential Knowledge and Abilities: Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in written form. Ability to work effectively and harmoniously in pressure situations with fellow employees, supervisors, dispatchers, and bus operators to attain the best possible transit service for customers. Knowledge of Trapeze preferred. Ability to operate standard office machines including, but not limited to copy machine, printers, scanner, computer, telephones.
