Summary The Dispatcher monitors all alarms, fire and security, access control, recording, and Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV), Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) Terminal, California Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (CLETS), 2-way radio base stations with multi-net/bridging capabilities, voice recording systems, and aircraft communication systems as well as make all radio communications to emergency responders 24/7. Responsibilities Track and record all incidents with a chronological listing. Maintain an up-to-date list in Dispatch of emergency contact telephone numbers, including the NASA Protective Services Office (PSO), center management, center emergency operations personnel, federal and local law enforcement agencies, local emergency management, communication dispatch centers, and fire departments within Santa Clara County. Maintain communication and coordination with other local and county dispatch centers to request mutual aid resources, to receive requests for mutual aid support, and to notify potentially affected jurisdictions of events at ARC that may impact their communities. Operate the 911 emergency telephones and the Telephone Device for the Deaf (TDD). Must be able to work flexible hours to include weekends and holidays if needed. As a critical position will be required to report and remain available for emergency duty in expectation of declared emergency. of duties Other duties as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Introduction to the Incident Command System (ICS-100) training required prior to appointment. ICS for Single Resources and Initial Action Incidents (ICS-200) training required prior to appointment. National Incident Management System (NIMS) (IS-700) training required prior to appointment. Meet and maintain the requirements of NFPA 1061, Professional Qualifications for Public Safety Tele-communicator and Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) and NFPA 1221, Standard for the Installation, Maintenance, and Use of Emergency Services Communications Systems. POST Basic Dispatch Academy required prior to appointment. First Aid/CPR Certified or BLS certified per contract and PWS requirements California Law Enforcement Telecommunications Systems (CLETS). Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license. Must be able to obtain a DoD security clearance, but not required to start. Estimated Salary/Wage USD $40.01/Hr.
